There-in lies the point. Of course the moronic trolls going to other teams sites are semi-expected to be, well, just that - trolls, trying to stir the pot. By in large tOSU fans are confident but not childishly ignorant. Which was my point. I would be an idiot to think I was going to read their board and see a bunch of people saying we would win, I wanted to read their fans comments and concerns. I was not anticipating the over abundance of arrogance.
However, chances are there is a more respectable site for USC fans and I am reading the small minority of children. Which is okay. I was kind of hoping to find a fanbase similar to Texas, which I grew to respect and there were quite a few discussions between the base that wasn't "We are way more awesomer than you slow and fat Ohio people."
Back on topic to the game, I am becoming more excited by the day for the clash of these teams. I really feel this is our year; and truth be told I felt all year last year that we weren't quite an upper echelon team and benefitted from a wacky year in CF. This year, however, we silence the critics and nay-sayers and win an <4 point epic game with USC, then the national championship.
BTW, troy#1 and methomps, dont take my venting re: that site, as a knock on you, just that specific site.

- Their LB group is by far the best ever with no real competition
- Their entire secondary is faster than Small but they weigh much more
- tOSU returns a lot of starters, but have you seen how fast the Trojans are?
- The average predicted score is somewhere in the range of 15 point victory for the speed-demons
- Seriously, have you seen how fast the Trojans are? No, seriously?
After reading that board I felt like I was reading a group of middle school kids telling each other how great they are. Occasionally someone with a registering IQ of football gives breakdown along the lines of the Buckeyes; and Todd Boeckman is the reason we haven't gotten over the hump the past 2 years because he is mistake prone. I vaguely remember watching TB running for his life against Florida and throwing all those interceptions.
Does Buckeye nation have a board as juvenile as WeAreSc.com? Admittedly I don't travel to Bucknuts or whatever it's called now, but either I have completely missed the boat on the most dominant defense at any level of football, or a reality check is needed over there. I wonder if USC should join the SEC?

yea ive seen claims on USC boards that this USC defense may be the best defense ever to take the field in college football HISTORY
even though they lost 3 first round picks Sedrick Ellis (who wont be as easily replaced as their fans seem to think) Keith Rivers Lawrence Jackson and starting DB Terrell Thomas
they act like Mark Sanchez is some sort of proven superstar and that Boeckman is a scrub who does not even belong on the field
and my favorite which comes up alot
"We killed Illinois and OSU lost to them so we will kill OSU as well"
some USC fan on there predicted that Ohio State will win and they all flipped out on the guy
bucknuts is more of a downer type board, everyone over there seems like they are hoping for the worst and only look at the negatives while ignoring the positives

None taken! wearesc is a pretty good site, but if you pay to be a member, and alot of people do, its kinda hard to tell them not to talk smack! On scout.com scplaybook, there are some good posters, and a few flamers, but I try and laugh and move on.BTW, I was rooting for the bucks the last 2 mnc games. My dad, a huge buck fan from ohio, died last oct. so his last mnc game he got to see was the fla. game. I was hoping the buckeyes would beat lsu just for the old man! Oh well.

I have been reading alot of bucks fans that seem to have no faith in TB at all! Some even go as far as saying they hate having him on the team. And that we beat them and they lost to them makes no sense. We beat ucla, and ucla beat stanford , and? Well, you get where I am going with this. I just hope SC plays as well as they are capable of playing, and maybe there will be a good outcome.

Boeckman had several cases of deer eyes, and beyond that played a really solid year. Our expectations run high in these parts and it's not surprising to see dissidence from fans, but I think we have a solid QB situation coming into the season. It's not all too often you bring back an All-BigTen selection and don't have high expectations. My hope is that Pryor works out and puts a good push on Boeckman, not to mention a change up look here and there.
Now while Boeckman will determine much of the outcome, most interesting will be how USC stacks up against an absolute monster of a back with an experienced front. Their DL is talent-rich but won't be able to stop Beanie from averaging more than 5 yards a carry, sorry. How the hell can they talk about speed when Wells is 240 and runs a 4.4?
There's always the possibility of the USC that lost to Stanford showing up, or the OSU that lost to Illinois. I hope that both teams show up, and OSU wins a classic.

My only concern about the fans hating on TB is he is still a young man, and a student, and I am pretty sure he has feelings and sometimes reads what the fans say about him! I am sure that he gives 100% when he is playing, even though it might not look like it. It is alot different watching from the stands or on tv, than being back there with some bog, mean football players coming after you with smoke coming out of their nostriles, know what I mean?
