Im not saying that we need a QB thats going to run it 15 times a game (ie, PAT WHITE) but keeping the defense on its toes and having that option is something that Boeckman doesnt offer. IMO hes alittle to predictable, and I believe that teams know that.

We did lose that game, remember?

People keep saying Boeckman regressed, but the competition was way better at the end of the season. And in the Michigan game the weather was horrendous! Toss that game out.
So. Let's look at the "regression".
Wiscy? He helped lead a comeback win.
Illinois? The whole team, especially the defense and offensive line under performed. Blame that on Boeckman?
Again, we see the WRs did not get separation. And the interception in the end zone was a tip.
Michigan game? The weather was a huge factor on both sides.
BCS game. Robo drops a beautifully thrown TD. Then the WRs again can't get separation. And the offensive line can't protect him long enough.
There All SEC corner makes a great play on a ball.(pass to Small who couldn't get off coverage) And Hartline pulls up and Boeckman misses him for a pick.
Penalties. Missed assignments. Lost that game. Not Boeckman's play.
So. I ask.
Where did he regress?

I don't post alot of messages but this topic lights me up. I said all season once we face a defense that will play more than 20 yards down field that we had no chance. If you like a QB that throws the ball up for grabs everytime then Boeckman is your guy. The "pre- MSU" games proved this. Go back and watch the games and tell me how many great catches our wide recievers made. If Boeckman gets the starting position next year I feel sorry for all of Buckeye Nation and most of all for our WR's. I can't tell you if Henton or Pryor(if he signs) will be the cure, but there is no way Boeckman can do it. I wish I could believe that he could be a great QB like Krenzel but the kid does not have it. Even though Krenzel might not have been the most athletic, he was smart. I am not posting this message to buckeye-bash just cause the lost the NC game but I want to see a leader on the field next year.

I do remember that we lost that game, however Zwick did start that game and did poorly untill Smith came in got us back in it with his feet and then I also remember that the last drive they put Zwick back in and the defense blitzed and he fumbled the ball. remember? If a more mobile QB like Smith was in the last drive of that game we win.

It is still a team game and if your WRs can't get off coverage you could have Elway back there and it wouldn't make a difference.
If your offensive line gets beaten your QB is running for his life.
We have lost a total of 3 games in 2 years with this group of players.
We have played in 2 strait BCS Championship games in a row.
With a young team this year. A team most picked 3rd in our conference!
2008 is supposed to be The Year!

I think that beockman will be the starter next year, but wE will see Henton come in a ran so things like LSU did this year with their two QB's.

It would be nice if that was true.
The truth is Troy was still shaking off the rust of a suspension and had trouble reading defenses. He was not ready till several games later.
Zwick was our best option.
A dropped TD pass by the TE prevented Zwick from being the hero of that game.
Texas was just better and did win a BCS Championship with that team.
Accept it.

Im in no way trying to be a downer on Boeckman at all, for all I know the kid could come in next year and light it up. Maybe its the play calling or the WR not getting enough seperation. But I do believe that College Football is changing with faster DE and DL. Bottom line is that if Henton and Pryor(if he signs) gives us a better chance against USC with their legs. Both of them have the size and I think athletisism of a Vince Young and I would hate to throw that away this coming year with the talent that we have coming back for Boeckman (If he plays like he did in the second half of the season). If he gets the start, which Im sure he will from Tressel I hope all the best for him, however I would like to see tressel utilize the talent that he does have and could have(Pryor) then to just give him the start because hes a senior.
