RB Jordan Hall (official thread)

Currently we have 3 RB commits...

Jordan Hall - It is very conceivable that Jordan ends up on the defensive side of the ball. Even if he does play offense, i dont really see him as an every down type of guy. Think of the type of role that Brandon Saine has been used

Jaamal Berry and Carlos Hyde - From the very start i am sure the staff has been up front with these 2. Throughout their entire recruitment they were made aware that the staff wanted one power back and one speed back. I think they will form more of a complimentary role as opposed to them being in competition

All of these RB's were fully aware of our recruiting plans from the beginning.

I cant picture him playing on our defense. The height and lack of high end speed make it very difficult for me to imagine him play CB for us. He's a playmaker though, and should find a role in our offense, which hopefully utilitzes a large number of the versatile athletes we've brought in the last 2-3 classes

Why are people seeing him on defense, I think he would fit perfect in a spread offense when/if Terrelle Pryor gets the starting QB position. We could put him in the slot to cause mismatches. Just get him the ball in space and let him do what he does! Make plays

The Pryor and Hall combo has done some significant damage in the last few years. I would think the Buckeyes certainly present Jordan with his best chance of success, simply bc of the relationship that has already been established. Defense, schmefense.

Jeannette running back Jordan Hall returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown to kick-start the Jayhawks' attack as they rolled over the Gladiators, 45-0, to run their overall winning streak to 19.
"When we came out they were yapping a little bit, and we don't like it when people talk at home," Hall said. "The coaches just said to set the tone and I just pulled it out."

In addition to his touchdown run, Hall, the Ohio State recruit, carried six times for 31 yards and two touchdowns in the first half as Jeannette spread the wealth around and pulled its starters after taking a 45-point lead at the intermission.

Jeannette rolls over Waynesburg

Things just never change week-to-week for the Jeannette football team.
Just like in its previous three games, No. 1 Jeannette had its game decided early and it had the Mercy Rule, more than a 35-point lead, in effect by halftime.
Jordan Hall scored four touchdowns, and quarterback Cameron Baradziej tossed a touchdown pass and intercepted a pass -- all in the first half -- to lead Jeannette (4-0, 4-0) to a 49-0 victory at Waynesburg (1-3, 1-3) in a WPIAL Class AA Interstate Conference game.

Hall completed one pass for 36 yards to Moziah Harris. Hall also rushed for 54 yards on five carries.

Then it became the Jordan Hall show. The Ohio State recruit returned a punt 50 yards to make it 28-0, and then he scored on runs of 10 and 9 yards, to make it 42-0.
"Jordan had an incredible game," Reitz said. "He has a knack of returning punts."

Anyone else see TGII- Troy Smith comparisons here all over the place?
Not that Hall will be the next Ginn (I doubt anyone will anytime soon) OR that Pryor will be the next Hall. But Smith and Ginn definitely had a connection where they could just connect, especially on Troy's scramble routes... Ginn was often his go-to target there, moreso in 2005, but still in 2006. Having played with a guy for a long time can pay dividends, and Hall and Pryor could have that same connection. I must say I'm eagerly anticipating it.

Only semi-relevant to Jordan but an interesting stat:

High School Football Notebook: Clairton receiver a scoring machine

Jeannette is the only team in the state that has not allowed a point so far this season. On offense, the Jayhawks have scored 178 points. Jeannette's 20-game winning streak is the longest in the state.

That is impressive. Any chance they could meet Gateway this season? That would be one heck of a matchup.

Not a chance. Gateway is AAAA and Jeanette is AA. Although, I think Jeanette could give some AAAA teams a run for their money.

Another Jeannette win.....36-7.

Ohio State recruit Jordan Hall led Jeannette with 80 yards on five carries, with 62 of those yards coming on two rushes.

NOTES: Hall added an interception and a 36-yard scamper in the fourth quarter ...

Jeannette 27, McGuffey 13
The No. 2 Jayhawks (6-0, 6-0) trailed, 13-6, at halftime before posting 21 unanswered second half points in their Interstate Conference win at McGuffey (3-3, 3-3). Quarterback Cameron Baradziej scored three touchdowns for Jeannette as it ran its win streak to 22 consecutive games. The Jayhawks' Jordan Hall led all rushers with 171 yards on 12 attempts.

CLAYSVILLE - After watching his high-powered offense struggle throughout the first half, Jeannette head coach Ray Reitz probably wanted to call alum Terrelle Pryor for an offensive spark. Instead, Reitz called on senior running back Jordan Hall to ignite his offense.
After carrying the ball only three times for one yard in the first half, Hall tore through the McGuffey defense in the second, carrying the ball 10 times for 184 yards and a touchdown, leading undefeated Jeannette to a 27-13 win over the Highlanders in a Class AA Interstate conference game.
