Rivals screws up again. I hardly think a unit with a legit 1st round prospect(Robo), a great slot receiver(Hartline), and a slew of other promising young prospects(Small, Sanzo, Posey, Washington, Thomas, Schwartz, and Stoney) is our weakest link. Anyone who even remotely followed tOSU football would know our FB's and return game are our weakest units. Gotta' love the " In fact, they would be No. 3 or even No. 4 guys on some teams." comment. Our track record at WR speaks for itself. If you're a starting receiver at tOSU, you're special.

Returning seniors, experienced, savvy WRs, and more depth than ever on this team and still they are a bunch slugs according to the media. I can't wait to recall this story from Rivals when the Buckeye WR corps has a kick ass year. The WR depth on this team is largely unknown to the CFB world and there will be a few surprises in store this year. But that's the fun of watching this game, you never know who will have his break out game.

It's worth repeating that Ginn/Gonzo's 06 stats and Robo/Hartline's 07 stats are nearly identical. Even more impressive when you consider that Ginn/Gonzo had a runaway Heisman winner throwing to them, and Robo/Hart had a first year starter who had a couple less than stellar games. Robo may not have jaw-dropping speed, but his hands make him a rare talent.

Wide Receivers: The depth chart is about as everyone expected. The real questions are in the backups and the third, fourth and even fifth wide receiver spots.
The "step up guy" of camp was probably Dane Sanzenbacher at the slot position, but don't write off Ray Small there either. Both will see action this year.
"You have guys pushing each other," said wide receivers coach Darrell Hazell. "I saw that out of Dane and Ray this fall. Those guys are battling every single practice and there's nothing like competition."
Hazell indicated that it is now very close between Sanzenbacher and Small, which is good news for the Buckeyes. The fifth position will probably go to either Taurian Washington or freshman DeVier Posey. Posey has impressed since arriving for summer drills, but Hazell likes the progress he has seen in Washington as well.
"He's got speed, he's got great hands, he's big, he's a 6-3 guy, and he's starting to play well in traffic," said Hazell.
"When you're young, you don't play as fast around people, and you need to play fast if you want to get open around people. He'll be a good player for us. We'll play him this year as some point in time."

Depth at wide receiver means plenty of interactive competition for those starting jobs. It also means that the players get better after every practice. This is going to be an explosive team offensively to say the least.

Shining Out Wide: There was plenty of preseason talk about the depth at wide receiver this season. That group did not disappoint in the season opener. As expected, both Brian Hartline and Brian Robiskie played well, but several of the younger players also had very strong performances including both DeVier Posey and Ray Small. Posey had four receptions for 47 yards, both game highs. Posey's very first reception as a Buckeye resulted in a touchdown on a 25 yard reception from Todd Boeckman
DeVier Posey "I was actually surprised. When he missed me I was like 'Oh man!' I didn't know I scored at first but it just felt so good," said Posey of the play.
"I couldn't sleep last night but I didn't think I was going to score. I was surprised at first. I was trying to find my mom but I couldn't find her. It felt good but I never in my wildest dreams thought I would score the first time I played. I saw he was playing soft so I caught it and did a little hitch. Todd threw it to me and he came up. I did what any person would do if somebody is going to come at you, I moved. I was surprised at how free I was. I kind of was stunned. I felt like I stood there for about five seconds in my head but I know it really wasn't that long. I just took off. I closed my eyes when I dove in but it felt good.

A correction for the Ozone article above. Hartline had the game high on reception yardage with 59 yards on 2 catches.
