My bad, if its been asked before, like I said I just read the whole thread, and its all kinda mixing together at this point. I guess we'd be set for '08, but if I may be "glass half empty" for a minute, are there any hot prospects for '09, or are they holding off on us until Pryor decides??

For '09 we have 2 great options that we would have, possilbly 3. Devontae Payne from OH looks to be legit (Rivals pre-100, #73) as a pro-style guy and dual-threat Russel Sheppard (#3 guy nationally on Rivals) from Texas would be a real option if Pryor didn't come to OSU and is Eddie George's cousin. Also, dual threat Rivals top 100 QB, #13 nationally Tyrik Robinson also lists OSU interest. I really hope we land Pryor because he is heads and shoulders above any QB since Vince Young imo. However, if we should miss (which I give the smallest of odds) we have options in '09 for sure.

What hasn't been mentioned is his thoughts on Oregon's basketball program, which would be key since he is planning on playing both sports in college.

They arent bad...but they clearly are no tosu and they dont have a coach as good as matta either

Our b-ball hasn't exactly been tearing it up this season, and in fact had their asses handed to them three times so far. Granted they're a young team, but I wouldn't make them out to be another North Carolina or UCLA...

Agreed...that being said...can oregon surround pryor with the type of talent that he will have around him in cbus??

great question. i say no. osu develops great athletes so they can play in the nfl. why would pryor go to a school like oregon or wvu and play in a scheme offense? do you see pat white or dennis dixon being good nfl prospects? no. i know dixon is going to play baseball, but you still get my point. heck, both dixon and white both got injured this year and pretty much ruined their season. i mean yeah if pryor gets hurt at osu, we have such a deep roster that our team doesn't rely on just 1 player. if the media attention is getting to pryor now, how is he going to feel playing for a team like oregon or wvu where the whole teams season relies on him and only him! pryor would be alot safer injury wise to play for an offense like osu, especially with brewster and the other great young offensive lineman leading the way. osu prepares guys for the next level better than most of the schools in college football alone. not to mention the consistent talent every year on both sides of the ball to help him out. like someone else said on here, we can take 3 star athletes and make them nfl 1st rounders, just think what pryor can be playing for the Buckeyes!

What happened to distance being a factor? I thought he wanted to stay near his dad/family, and that OSU / WVU were basically the schools furthest away that he was seriously considering.

You can't get much further away from PA than going to Oregon.

I don't think anyone can but Oregon's '08 class is ranked 11th in the nation so Kent is definitely bringing in some talent.

Seriously I have a question, but is it possible that we could get a thread on news, and actual news about the recruitment like articles and another thread for speculation...I have stopped clickin' on this thread on a consistent basis, but I always click on it every third day or so only to scroll thru things that I don't read...No offense to anyone posting in the thread, and I do realize that TP is one of the biggest recruits that we have ever recruited and there is a reason for the speculation...

Just stick to the title? I usually check in briefly to get an idea on a kid then just wait until the title is changed to "Is a Buckeye!" for new news.
