Let me respond to the PMs I have received en masse...do any of you really put any stock in this news report from a Louisiana newspaper that contains no new quotes from Terrelle or anyone connected to his situation? All it does is rehash info that was posted weeks ago. And the funny thing is that the article says his interest in LSU is largely in part to his friendship with Patrick Johnson...who at this point does not have the grades/test scores to even get into LSU and could be looking elsewhere.

Just to add to what wade said, Pryor's coach has also yet to acknowledge that a visit to LSU is even scheduled or going to take place, despite the reports... Per Coach Reitz via BK on the free board at BN, TP is visiting Michigan this weekend and Oregon next weekend, not LSU...

Jeannette All-America quarterback Terrelle Pryor is smarter than the average No. 1 high school recruit in the country who can play anywhere he wants next year, outside of the NFL.
If it comes down to the anticipated two-school battle between Ohio State and Michigan for Pryor's services, don't give the Wolverines the edge just because Pryor could start right away for new coach Rich Rodriguez.

Pryor has Ohio State's quarterback situation all figured out. Florida's Tim Tebow, meet Terrelle Pryor.

"If I don't start, if I don't win the job, I'd like to be like Tim Tebow was his freshman year. If I don't win the job, maybe I can play a role like that," Pryor said. "If they need a key first down, they throw me in there. It would give me exposure, give me a feel for the way the college game is played."

Not that Pryor is conceding Ohio State's starting quarterback job to Boeckman, a traditional pocket passer who will be a senior next season.

"If that was the school I choose," Pryor said of coach Jim Tressel's Buckeyes, "I'd battle him. Whatever school I go to, I'll battle for a position. They're one of my top schools, but it's not just for them. Wherever I go, I'd like to battle for the position."

If you've checked out the SI/TAKKLE.com list of the nation's top 100 high school football players recently, you probably pelted your computer screen in strawberry-banana smoothie when you noticed one particular ranking.
No. 16 QB Terrelle Pryor of Jeannette (Pa.) High.
If you follow recruiting at all, you probably know that Rivals.com and Scout.com consider Pryor the No. 1 overall prospect. You probably also know that ESPN's Scouts Inc. ranks Pryor as the No. 4 player, though they hedged by calling Pryor an "athlete" rather than a quarterback. So why, you ask, did Offense-Defense Football -- who provides the rankings for SI and TAKKLE.com (Sports Illustrated is an investor in Takkle) -- rank Pryor so low? Bill Urbanik, a former college (Wake Forest) and NFL assistant (Bengals, Raiders) and NFL player-personnel official (Raiders) who is one of several ex-coaches who evaluates players for O-D, said there is rationale behind the ranking.

Third-quarter run gets Jeannette win

Most people would be happy with a 22-point, 12-rebound and five-blocked shot performance.
Most people aren't like Jeannette senior Terrelle Pryor, however. Pryor demands a lot from himself. Some high school players would probably love to have one of Pryor's off nights. "I'm not pleased with my performance at all," said Pryor after he helped Jeannette defeat East Allegheny, 73-59, in a Section 1-AA contest. "I was definitely off my game. I played a bad game, everyone does."

ANN ARBOR ? Terrelle Pryor, regarded as the top football recruit in the country, received a warm welcome Saturday night at the Michigan-Iowa basketball game during his official visit.

?We want Pryor!? the student section chanted when he emerged from a tunnel and walked to his seat. ?We want Pryor!?

Pryor arrived in Ann Arbor on Saturday after helping Jeannette (Pa.) High School win a basketball game, and seemed to enjoy his first day on campus.

?It?s cool,? Pryor responded to The Associated Press via text message during the first half of the basketball game.

A reporter replied, asking what schools he was considering other than Michigan and Ohio State.

?LSU and Oregon,? Pryor typed in a text message to the AP.

Pryor?s host during the visit was his cousin, wide receiver Toney Clemons.

The presence of the highly touted quarterback created a buzz at Crisler Arena, where several photographers turned their backs to the game and took pictures of him.

?Come to Michigan!? fans chanted. ?Come to Michigan!?

Pryor sat in a second-row seat behind Wolverines football coach Rich Rodriguez and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch, whose brother is dating Pryor?s aunt. Batch, who played at nearby Eastern Michigan and for the Detroit Lions, has been asked by Pryor to assist him during the recruiting season.

ANN ARBOR -- The moment Michigan fans were waiting for finally came Saturday evening as highly touted dual-sport prospect Terrelle Pryor stepped foot inside Crisler Arena.

Pryor arrived at the venue about 20 minutes after the 7 p.m. tip-off of the men's basketball game against Iowa and was accompanied by football coach Rich Rodriguez and other prospects.

Members of the media and others congregated in and near the arena tunnel for a chance to talk to Pryor, but were told to leave by ushers and other university officials before he arrived.

The "Maize Rage" student section chanted "We want Pryor" when Pryor walked through the tunnel. They later changed "Go to Michigan!", which prompted a wave from Pryor.

Pryor isn't expected to announce his college choice until national signing day on Feb. 6. But Pryor's live-in godfather, Willie Burns, believes the athlete's mind could be already made up.

"I think I know where he's going, but I'm not saying where," Burns told The Detroit News Friday evening. "I think he's a made a decision, but he doesn't want to tell the media until signing day."

Roy Hall, the quarterbacks coach at Jeannette (Pa.) High School, knows Terrelle Pryor as well as anyone. Before his star pupil went on his official visit to Michigan this weekend, he described Pryor as "flustered" and unsure about whom to trust when choosing his college home.

Oregon, Penn State, Florida and late entrant LSU all remain in the running, apparently. With Michigan and Ohio State, the nation's No. 1 quarterback recruit has two traditional powers within driving distance offering two distinctly appealing opportunities -- one where he can play immediately as a program savior, another where's he made friends and can slide into a trend of recent success.

At least one recruiting expert considers Oregon a major contender, others think he's all but delivered to Ohio State, and some think Michigan makes too much sense.

So he'll probably go to Duke.

If he doesn't, here are the factors he's thinking about while comparing Ohio State and Michigan before he makes the decision he's expected to announce on National Signing Day on Feb. 6.

The future of the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry might be sitting down to breakfast in Ann Arbor, Mich., as you read this. If he is, it is doubtless a feast suited for King Henry VIII.

Or maybe he's strolling around town with two of the most beautiful girls on Michigan's campus clinging to each arm. Or he could be on his way to a private meeting with the governor of Michigan or the chairman of the board of General Motors or an executive with Eminem's Shady Records for plans on a collaborative CD.

I might be exaggerating a little, but the point can't be overstated. Michigan pretty much has to land Terrelle Pryor, the Jeannette, Pa., quarterback generally acknowledged as the top high school prospect in the country. No one in any official capacity in Wolverine-dom is going to say that as he makes his official visit this weekend, but it's unquestionably true.

Ohio State wants Pryor. Oregon, Florida and Penn State want Pryor. Michigan has to have him. Pryor is the Wolverines' best hope of rejuvenating their image and regaining footing in its rivalry with Ohio State. He's a Vince Young-style quarterback perfectly suited for new coach Rich Rodriguez's spread option offense.

Back in the good old days -- about five weeks ago -- most analysts agreed that Ohio State was sitting pretty in the recruiting competition for Terrelle Pryor.

"It looked like it would be a slam dunk for Ohio State," Jeremy Crabtree of Rivals.com said.

But the Buckeyes' breakaway in pursuit of Pryor -- a 6-foot-6 quarterback from Jeannette, Pa., who is rated the nation's No. 1 prospect -- turned into at least a two-school race Dec. 16 when Michigan hired Rich Rodriguez. The coach specializes in the spread option offense that Pryor seems innately suited for, and he called Pryor that day. Just like that, Pryor dropped West Virginia from his ever-changing list of finalists and added Michigan.

That's why -- even though he has other suitors, notably Florida, Oregon, Louisiana State and Penn State -- there is a sense that on signing day Feb. 6, as television cameras zoom in just past noon, Pryor is going to choose between the Wolverines and the Buckeyes.

"That's not to say somebody like LSU won't come out of left field -- you can never say never," Crabtree said. "But all signs point to this being a classic, monumental Ohio State-Michigan recruiting battle."

Bill Kurelic of Bucknuts.com agreed, but with a caveat.

"Oregon, with the offense they run and with the success their quarterback Dennis Dixon had this season, I really believe it would be a strong player in this race if it wasn't so far away," Kurelic said. "So in the end, I will be surprised if it doesn't come down to Ohio State or Michigan."

In terms of Penn State recruiting interest and, more specifically, the recruiting interest of Penn State fans, there has never been a chase like the one involving dual-threat quarterback Terrelle Pryor. Not even close. If you took Chad Henne, added in some Derrick Williams and Kevin Jones and multiplied it by LaVar Arrington, then maybe you would come close to approaching the excitement surrounding the 6-6, 225-pound Pryor, Jeannette's blue-chip quarterback who is Recruiting 2008's It Guy.

Formidable recruits: Pryor would make OSU class great

COLUMBUS - The 2008 recruiting class at Ohio State looks like a group that could line up right now and give more than a few teams a pretty
decent struggle.

There's a wealth of strength along the line, speed and athleticism outside, and some ferocious hitters on the defense.

The only thing missing is the quarterback. And if the Buckeyes get the guy they are after at that position, they could have something very close to the top class in the land.

"Right now, it's as good a class as Jim Tressel has had in his years at Ohio State. But the one thing that's missing is a quarterback, and if he gets the quarterback he wants, you could make a pretty strong case that this will be one of the best classes in the country," said Steve Helwagen, managing editor of Bucknuts, an internet and publishing entity that extensively tracks Ohio State's recruiting efforts.

Twelve minutes, 46 seconds remained in the first half. The University of Michigan men's basketball team led Iowa by three points. Then it happened.

Terrelle Pryor entered Crisler Arena.

Preceded by new Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez, his wife Rita, and several other Wolverine recruits for the class of 2008, Pryor walked into the venue and everyone's attention shifted.

Jeannette's No. 1 son, Terrelle Pryor, seemed at ease when he and his teammates were honored by the community for their football success.
The top football recruit in the nation was laughing and joking Thursday night, even while Ohio State and Penn State coaches lurked in the shadows of the Jeannette High School auditorium.

It was one of the few moments since Jeannette's state championship victory that Pryor could enjoy himself.

Pryor has had several demands placed upon him before and after that game. He jumped right into basketball season, which included a tournament in Charlotte, N.C., two weeks after the state title game. After returning from Charlotte by bus, he caught a flight the following morning for San Antonio and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, where he earned MVP honors.
