I hate when I see people comparing Pryor to Troy Smith (not really talking about anyone in particular, I hear it around Columbus a lot). I understand why, but it's an unfair comparison at this point. Pryor has that kind of potential, but let's see him suit up and play in S&G before crowning him the next Heisman winner! Didn't we have a vote on the site about the best OSU QB, and didn't Troy Smith win? We can't expect him to be THAT good. Haha

Anyways, good to see that his decision is coming up soon. I'd obviously like to see him in S&G, but if we don't get him I'm more than confident in our current mobile QB.

Completely understandable. That's why I hate when people say Pryor is a must get for Penn State. Listen, I'm not saying he isn't a ridiculous athlete but we as well have two QBs on our roster who will have been with Penn State for 3 and 2 years respectively. It sucks that he is going to be going to tOSU, but I can get over it pretty easily because he simply doesn't want to be at Penn State.

The exact opposite of how guys like Mauti, Wedderburn, Zordich would never end up going elsewhere - Pryor is looking at a bigger picture and friendships with other highly touted recruits, QB coach, HC, etc. It is his decision, if he would have come to Penn State he would have seen time on the field as a freshman but regardless of how great he has been against PA AA competition as well as in the Army AA Bowl he needs time to grow & learn as well. I think he is making the right decision playing football, but this is a big step up. Athletically he can handle it and will provide promise and flashes but a step up is a step up.

In the last five AA games I have seen unbelievable dominance in three of them...

Ted Ginn, Beanie and TP in this year's game....

This is the Top Gun game...

I was convinced TP was very good before the game... looking at numerous clips but thinking.. "this is against some of the second tier folks in PA"... but his performance in the AA game put him over the top...

His other clips remind me of Lebron in HS... LBJ was very good but he spent so much time getting his teammates involved... that he sacrificed his game... heck, his scoring avg in HS was less than it is now...

I looked at lots of photos of TP on his official at scUM... and he is stoic in most of them... I look at the photos of him at the Wisconsin hoops game with the OSU national guard (his future teammates).. and the kid is beaming...

This is where he belongs...

It's interesting that the media hype around Pryor seems to have died down of late, or I have just stopped paying attention. But as time passes the fact that Pryor doesn't seem to be basking in the media spotlight as he delays his decision, but rather, truly appears to have been focusing on basketball is reassuring.

That and the fact that Tressel is waiting this out patiently with the rest of us makes it seem like Pryor might just be the kind of "Tressel recruit" that Buckeye fans have all come to know and love.

No matter what happens in the end, it seems like Pryor has handled the process better than most people thought he did in the weeks before and after NLOID.

Let's put it this way; there are dozens of 6'6" wing players with 35+ inch verticals. However, how many quarterbacks are there like that? You could count them on one hand.

Yeah, but for those of us old enough to remember and quote Branch Rickey in a conversation with Ol' Miss QB and baseball phenom, Jake Gibbs, who couldn't make up his mind between signing with the Yankkes or going into the NFL draft, "What do you want kid, a career or a limp?"

If you can make it in the NBA I would think you'd make more money and have a longer career.

For Joe it turned out to be neither, but he got a lot of money for signing with the Yankees and playing minor league ball.
