If I'm Pryor, I cant friggin wait until next year's number 1 recruit takes the attention of all these idiots so I can get on with my life.
Great Post. TP will be facing an ongoing barage of highlights, spotlights, and hype from the media. But his coaches, team, and friends will insulate him from some of that because there's a few other guys who will also be in the limelight - Beanie, Saine, Laurenitis, Boeckman, Robo and few others still proving themselves on this team. I like this kid's attitude and composure so far, we landed a jem in Terrelle Pryor. What he went through must have been a heavy load. Now that it's lifted from his shoulders he can focus on his craft. I for one look forward to seeing that development over the next 4 years.

So according to this, Armanti Edwards is quality and Juice Williams is not? I'm not sure who I'd take in that comparison, but I'm pretty sure Juice would have some healthy stats on the I-AA level.

And more importantly, what about Michael Robinson in 2005?

Armanti has been performing at a high level much longer than Juice, and more importantly, with consistency. Juice has shown flashes (OSU), he has to turn that into the rule rather than the exception.

Armanti has been performing at a high level at the 1-AA level. His only other game against I-A competition came against NC St., in his first appearance and he was only 1-2 for 8 yards in that game, not nearly enough to base an opinion off of. You're telling me Juice wouldn't appear be a significantly better player than he appears now if he was in Armanti's position as the quarterback of the top school in DI-AA?

Additionally, what about Robinson? Was he not quality?

You're bringing up a hypothetical which cannot be proven. Juice plays 1-a ball, and all he has established is that he is inconsistent, and has not arrived as a consistent quality qb. The potential is certainly there, as OSU fans witnessed first-hand. As far as NC State, I agree that's a poor foundation for opinion, considering he didn't start until 2 games later.

Ask UM fans who they'd rather face again.

Robinson was a great leader, athlete & threat... not sure he was a true QB, but UM did beat him.

don't know if this has been asked, and this thread grows too rapidly for me to go and check...

does anyone else see him playing anything other than QB the first year? I know we'll see him running from the QB position a lot but what about him playin in the slot and catching screens and the such?

Also after the turnout that the App State reciever had in his 40 time I can say that Appy state has some serious speed over there...

I find it hard to not classify a guy who won the Silver Football as Big Ten MVP as a 'quality' mobile QB.

But let's get back to Pryor.

Maybe on a trick play, but we have plenty of true receivers (with better quicks) to handle those duties.

Perhaps, but so is Stoneburner, among others. I'd rather he build experience at QB as well. Though I would not mind seeing both dual-threats on the field at once against a mac squad (which falls more under a gadget play, imo), just to see what they can bring.

you may be right about other recievers being a little more shifty, but you got a 6'6" 220-230 (depends how much weight he gains according to TP) running a 4.4! Where TP is like VY IMO is that they're both very hard to tackle, and why would we want to throw a quick screen to a reciever that will get tackled right away or shortly after the catch when you can get the ball to a kid who's awful tough to bring down.

stoney is great but you can't match TP's athletic ability, and I was just wondering though because TP does have that kind of talent where its hard to keep him off the field. Having Saine, TP, and of course beanie in on the same play would cause havoc for another defense.

building off what Roger has to say though... We should definatly show teams some looks with TP and some gadget plays to give the bigger teams something to look at and prepare for. I'm not sayin sacrifice his developing at QB for it at all. Don't move him to WR perminantely or anything just give him a few snaps in the game at a non qb position to just get his feet wet in games.
