I actually consider myself a connoisseur of sorts with early 90s west coast rap.

Yeah, I wonder what Zwicks thread would have looked like

Zwick also was back in the days before BP when a lot of folks were still on BN. I doubt I ever saw a thread on Zwick longer than 20-30 posts. Of course, he had 4,000 threads.

Not to bring this up again but is it a definite Pryor will be #2 in 2008? I'm just looking at buying an authentic jersey and it would be annoying if he didn't pick that #.

Mo Wells and Saine averaged 12.5 carries a game between them. Toss in a few pass plays and plays they didn't touch the ball, and they have well over 15 plays a game between them. I don't think Pryor is going to get 15+ snaps a game.

What he said. Wells is a Sr. to be and Saine saw significant action as well. JT has more than proven that he is loyal to veteran players. I absolutely expect packages to be drawn up to get Pryor the ball, but not nearly enough to say he'll get more touches than the top two backups to Beanie. Especially considering the high probability we will have our fair share of blowouts causing JT to rest Beanie. Blowouts = JT running the ball, not giving his prize frosh recruit the ball on designed sneaks and gadget plays.

It depends. If Pryor performs like people expect him to perform, which is being able to get upfield in a hurry, it's going to be tough to keep him off the field. Remember, this kid is not a Smith/Henton in terms of his running abilities. If he plays with the 4.4-4.5 speed as advertised, MoWells may get a lot fewer touches and Saine will be utilized more out of the slot.

I would be stunned if the Buckeye QB of the future was put in at running back. Probably no other position on the field takes as much punishment as running back. Also, we are far from thin at RB. With Wells, Saine, Wells and Herron there's no need to risk injury to Pryor.

I'm wondering what will happen at the end of the blowout games with TP. Assuming Todd starts, then Henton will get his snaps and then TP will get garbage time. I know JT likes to just run it up the gut, but I can't help but think this would be a great opportunity to let TP get some live snaps at QB and learn the offense realtime. I'd hate to see TP get into the game and just hand it off to the running back 6 times.

JT is a gentleman and he will probably run it. But I think he'll also let his QB of the future get his feet a little wet in the process too.

for pryor to come in regardless of the score (expecially early in the year) and start throwing the ball around in a blowout will require him to have a very strong grip on the offense. the number of actual practices he has been a part of to date indicates to me that he is FAR from that point at present. lets let him attend a practice before we start guessing as to how much game time, in what fashion, and at whose expense it will be.

Care to share why not?
Because when Pryor is in, he'll be lined up at QB, not at TB, or some type of wingback, as you suggested. It seems likely that when Pryor is in, he'll mostly be running the ball at least initially, and on that basis you could argue that he'll take carries away from Saine/Mo Wells. But he'll be lined up under center, and on that basis, he'll be taking any snaps away only from the other quarterbacks.

TERRELLE PRYOR
Inside his decision to go to Ohio State
FREE PRESS NEWS SERVICES ? April 3, 2008

When Terrelle Pryor sat down in front of the TV cameras March 19 to announce where he would play college football and said the words ?The University of ...? Greg Gillum?s world went blank for a millisecond.

It didn?t matter that Pryor had plopped a black block ?O? cap on his head, revealing Ohio State as the winner over archrival Michigan. The nation?s No. 1 recruit had been sending mixed signals to the Buckeyes and Wolverines throughout the drawn-out and heavily scrutinized recruiting process.

Maybe Pryor was putting on the OSU cap for shock value before pulling a cruel switcheroo?

?... Ohio State,? Pryor finished.

Gillum, the Buckeyes? assistant recruiting coordinator, could breathe again. Ohio State would set Pryor straight on the formal structure of the school name later.

?To be honest, the first time we knew for sure that he was coming here was when he announced it,? Gillum said after a recent spring practice. ?It was up and down, like a roller coaster. Sometimes, you?d feel OK with where we were in the process and other times you?d be wondering what we could do better.

?The morning of his announcement, he seemed to be backpedaling a little bit. His last conversation with coach (Jim) Tressel was about 30 minutes before the news conference and when Jim got off the phone his reaction was, ?I don?t know.? ?

Do you think his first game will be USC? Do you think Tress waits until this game so that Petey doesn't have a look at TP in a Buckeye uniform until then?
