No. He won't want him getting his first collegiate experience at USC. He'll get him some reps against cupcakes YSU and Ohio so he's more comfortable running plays at game speed.

That's crazy talk!
Seriously though...no way he doesn't play til USC. He'll get the opportunity to break into the game easy vs YSU. Plus that's just not JT's style.
EDIT:
Yeah, what Oregon said. Sorry. At least great minds think alike.

what do you guys think about pryor not getting any playing time until after the usc game? you know, just to not disrupt the system we've had in place since last year. it seems to me that learning a whole new system with pryor might not be worth it for probably no more than a couple plays...
although i gotta admit it would be awesome to see him get his first against usc, take the ball out of the pocket, fake a run and throw a bomb to robo.

I can't wait to hear what the first practices are like.
Everyone knows how much importance JT puts on practice. If you can't get it done on the practice field, you won't see the real field.
IIRC, that's why Smith never got his shot until Zwick hurt his shoulder. Zwick was simply better on the practice field.

It wouldn't be unheard of for a Freshman QB to start that early but Jt isn't going to do that "just for the hell of it"

But Smith took a lot of punishment too when he was quarterbacking here...so did VY at Texas...and Vick at VaTech. Isn't coaching about maximizing the effectiveness of a player within the confines of the team strategy?

I'm having a hard time really seeing what you're arguing. Are you saying that you believe that TP is actually going to see significant action at RB?? Because, if so, I have a very hard time believing that JT is going to put the probable future of the program in lined up in the backfild and taking handoffs. Way too much risk there for a 6'6 freshman when you have a Heisman candidate there and a handful of more than capable backups. Along with Beanie, Mo and Zoom, Boom Herron has been drawing raves as well.
I absolutely believe that there will be a handfull of plays drawn up to get the ball in TP's hands, but I am quite sure the staff won't be lining him up as a RB.
