Pryor talk permeates practices

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
It's as if a presence from the future has been hanging over the Ohio State spring practices this month. Most of the talk has been about those taking part, but in almost every conversation there has been a reference to one player yet to come.
Terrelle Pryor.
"I am excited, our team is excited for him to become a member of our family," tight end Rory Nicol said. "We don't want to place any expectations on a kid that young, but we're certainly excited to see what new dimension he can bring to our offense."
Coach Jim Tressel understands the buzz.

I know we all have heard that he might used as a Tebow type of player but, just my opinion, I also, see him being used as Ginn was with those special trick plays and as a WR in the REDZONE. I would love to see someone on the defense trying to cover him. He would cause double teams and the other WR'S would have a field day and thats not counting Wells/Saine on the running play. Thats TD day
Another thing he played, with ESPN by not annoucing OSU on signing day. He never took those visits .

OSU football notebook: Pryor welcomed by stadium crowd
Saturday, April 19, 2008 9:00 PM
By Tim May
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Terrelle Pryor strolled into Ohio Stadium yesterday before the Scarlet and Gray game and drew immediate recognition from the crowd. The quarterback acknowledged it with a wave.
The nation's top prospect, of Jeannette, Pa., was making his first appearance in Columbus since signing a national letter of intent with Ohio State in March. He was sequestered from the media for most of the game but responded to a text message asking his impression of the atmosphere -- an announced crowd of 76,346 -- and of his reception.
"Very impressive," he replied. "I enjoyed it very much."
Pryor kept Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State hanging for six weeks while he made up his mind about his college choice. But even in the interim, he showed his allegiance to Ohio State. He sent flowers to quarterbacks coach Joe Daniels after he underwent surgery in February to remove a cancerous kidney.
"He is my coach, and I consider him family," Pryor said.
Tight end Rory Nicol was moved by Pryor's action.
"In my opinion, that just speaks volumes about what Terrelle Pryor is all about as a person," Nicol said. "He'll be welcomed here."
Pryor plans to enroll for the start of summer quarter June 16.

Pryor's absence only adds to the anticipation

We didn't see what we really wanted to see in Ohio Stadium.
As we watched the Ohio State football spring game on Saturday, April 19, we witnessed returning starters and emerging stars. But there was one big hole in the Scarlet and Gray team lineups that won't be filled until the summer.
Terrelle Pryor, the Jeannette (Pa.) High School quarterback signed with much celebration by Ohio State, was on hand, but he's still in high school. He did not graduate early and enroll at OSU for spring practices, so he wasn't in uniform starting what many hope is a challenge for significant playing time behind Todd Boeckman.
Instead, Pryor (gasp!) is still a high school student, continuing what seems to be a trend of relative normalcy despite his celebrity. In fact, earlier this month, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Pryor would run the 200 meters for his high school track team.

True, but we did see and will continue to see what impact his presence this weekend certainly had on recruiting...which for now, is plenty good enough for me!!!!!

If you struggle taking criticism, then you need to not be at Ohio State or not be playing the game of football.

Not that anyone does anyway but I guarantee no one will ever have any doubts about Terrelle's freakish speed after watching this. Pay attention to his int return which is about midway through the video and the halfback who throws it. That halfback had a 10 yard head start and the angle. You know who that halfback is? Chris Burns, 4* prospect and the 14th best TB in the country by scout. Chris ran a 4.44 40 and a 4.10 shuttle time at the Pittsburgh combine. Terrelle Pryor blew by one of the faster tailbacks in the country like he was nothing. It just blows my mind that someone so big can be so athletic.
Scout.com: Chris Burns Profile
Here's a quote from Terrelle.
Quote:
Pryor discussed his interception return, where Wilmington's speedy Chris Burns could not track him down.
"That's because I'm a 4.35 (40 man)," Pryor said. "Simple as that. That was a good play on my part and we had some key blocks. It wasn't just me. But he ain't catch me from behind."
