QB Terrelle Pryor (official thread)

While Pryor might have been the best player in the nation last year, he isn't at the top of this list. He will be a backup to Todd Boeckman, but look for the Buckeyes to be able to use Pryor the same way the Gators used Tim Tebow in their title run.

OSU backup QBs - Henton and Bauserman
Florida's Backup to Leak - nobody. I mean nooobody.

OSU Running Backs - C Wells, M Wells, Saine, Herron, ....
Fla Top Running Backs - DeShawn Wynn (who never gained more than 700 yards in his career).

Sounds like identical circumstances to me.

Arguments aside, he says that as though it's an accomplishment, knowing most will just absorb and regurgitate it as gold. Jordan Hall may be further along as a blocker than Sam McGuffie was at this stage, but that's not a ringing endorsement either. Pryor made large strides after his junior season as a passer.

One pretty dramatic difference, Shepherd is the size of a high school CB. Pryor is the size of an SEC senior DE.

The other important thing to keep in mind is that recruitniks are about the next big thing and trying to sell stories about the guy who's NOW or whatever. As far as the recruitniks are concerned, TP is old news. Now, of course, we're looking for the next TP... the better than TP guy who'll get hounded and hounded and hounded...

This comment below is so wrong on so many levels.....

1. Success?? The only QB they have had that has had any kind of long- term success is Brady. The other guys are career back-ups.....

2. OSU doesn't prepare their QB's for the NFL. All the guys listed except Krenzel and Smith where BT (before Tressel). Of the guys JT has recruited he is 1 for 1 in getting them in the NFL. He is 2 for 2 if you count the development of Krenzel....

3. Maintaining a long tradition of success in the NFL by UM QB's.
Doesn't he realize that Lloyd is gone and DickRod's offense is not conducive to NFL play. Besides here at THE Ohio State University we know how to spell maintaining.....

I normally don't comment on such things, but this is pretty funny. Does this guy thinks he's fooling ANYBODY by listing the above line as if it were the only thing on Kirk Herbstreit's resume? When Troy or Terrelle or whoever goes on to win a Super Bowl, will they refer to him as "that guy that does a Nike commercial"?

I may have to rethink the old, "mutual respect is an intrinsic part of this rivalry" thing. They're getting less respectable by the day, but I'm enjoying it immensely.

The teams and fans for that matter tend to take on the personalities of the coaches and players. It is very evident in both fan bases at the moment and will probably only get worse from their side as time goes on. There will be exceptions, like there are to every rule, but I expect much more BS coming in the near future. 4 in a row and 5 out of 6 have to really suck, we should know. (John Cooper )

You may just be right, but I don't think (and I could be dead wrong here) that we (the Buckeye nation as a whole) ever went as "off the wall" as some of this guys from up North are right now.....

I lived in Michigan during the Cooper years and it was really tough but I didn't attempt to drag their program down because of our obvious issues at the time in C-Bus....

BB, I think you are right as it will only get worse and more riduculous as we get closer to the season and their frustration grows over yet another loss. Their frustration level has to be high right now since the new millenium with each new lost to the Bucks, loss of key recruits (Terrelle Pryor, anyone?), the awakening of MSU, and the hiring of their new coach. RR is very much like that girl you always wanted to ask out and finally do only to find out that she has armpit hair, doesn't shave her legs and secretly chews tobacco. Your buddies (the rest of the Big Ten) have found out about your little secret and are teasing you about her non-stop. You know in your heart that they are right, but your pride gets in the way and you defend her and attempt to tear down their girlfriends..........

Now back to Terrell and his wise choice of OSU.....

Besides Brady, I'd like to see where all of scUM's QBs are right now up until the Frey/Graham era. Seriously. Where's Navarre? One thing's for sure: he's not pawning any rings.

Um can you even give them credit for Brady?? It's not like the dude shared time with another QB the whole time he was there and was a 6th round pick. I'd give most of the credit to Bellichick and the Patriots on that one.

If anything, Michigan screwed Brady up more than they did anything to help him.
