I wouldnt be so sure, as the argument goes, if Ohio was too much pressure for him...cant imagine tressel putting him under USC's pressure.
I think Pryor should be given a series to run the offense. Let him loose and see how much pressure he really can take, instead of assuming. (EDIT: which if i recall, seems to be what tressel did. didnt pryor get a series and go 3-and-out against Ohio?) |

Going to have to disagree with him playing an entire series. Putting him in for single plays would be more effective and keep USC off-balance IMO. And it wouldn't be a ridiculous amount of pressure (unless the one play was at the goal line with seconds left when we needed a TD to win, obviously). Giving him a whole series is setting him up to fail, and that could hurt his confidence. Don't need to be doing any of that. But I don't know the kid. I guess I'll just trust the coaches.
![]() We could line him up at a few spots (QB, HB, WR, TE) and not even give him the ball, but he'd still have an impact. |

No disrespect intended to Todd but if we line up in the I-formation with Mo Wells and Boeckman we're going to have a long night. We have to take some risks with the freshman, open up the field, and try to put some pressure on the SC defense. |

Agreeing, for sure.
I'll lay out what I think could be an effective gameplan on offense so I'm more clear.Todd is the QB. He has the ability to get some good gains running, but he should be the main passer, obviously. Bring in Pryor for some QB draws, and short passes if he's ready for it. Bring back Todd and have him run a draw a couple times. Mixing passing and running with both TP and TB would keep USC way off balance. Imagine if we lined TP up at WR, TE, RB as well. They'd be completely thrown off, even if he didn't get the ball. Basically, I just want to see us do as much as we can to confuse USC. Remember those odd formations that LSU used against us? I'd love to see some craziness. Some may say that if we need gimmicky plays to win, than we don't deserve to win. Last I checked, the team that scores the most wins. And we should try to score as much as possible. ![]() Probably more of a reply than you expected. ![]() EDIT: Also, this is one of the few times that I could see a two-QB system actually being more effective than a one-QB system. And by this I don't mean an even split of snaps.. TB should and will get more snaps. TP should be used as a weapon. Haha, I have this feeling that the coaches will have a solid gameplan and they don't need my advice. |

I'd say don't hesitate to run the option or the pistol with Pryor and Boom to change it up with the inside runs. Boom is arguably the fastest guy on the team and it seems to me that he does his best when pitched the ball to the outside.

Its sort of the Michael Vick factor when he was with the Falcons. I remember watching some games of theirs and they would line Vick up at receiver, or running back and get the defenses attention, more often than not, that player doesn't get the ball, so a smart coordinator will treat the situation like its just another player. The key is to catch the defense off-balance and make them pay.

Hypothetically speaking here, what if Pryor has a breakout game and plays unbelievably. Now I know that Boeckman is our QB and I think he should be, but what type of roll would he play the rest of the season? Especially when Beanie comes back 100%?
