The more I see of Pryor the more I like him. Even when he's not out on the field he's involved, talking to Tress, talking to the O-line, talking to the RBs, he wants to be involved and do anything he can to learn the game and help us win (a bit telling that when Boeckman comes off the field he takes a seat on the bench and watches impassively). I think Pryor brings the same sort of competitiveness that Troy brought, and a desire to learn that Troy didn't really develop until his sophmore-junior offseason.
This was a tough game, but Pryor proved he can do his thing against the best in CFB which can only help his confidence. I hope to see him get big playing time and full offensive series as the season progresses. |

I took a lot of flak a few years ago when I thought we should start Troy Smith in favor of his competition for the starting slot. With the national championship gone for this year, the Big Ten title and a BCS bowl still hang in the balance. I'd still like to see Terrelle starting at quarterback within three games.
Beginning with the Spartan game last year, it has been obvous that Todd's performance is severely degraded with pressure. Every team that can put him under pressure has done so since. Mobility at QB produces more options to avoid defensive pressure and increase the price of applying it. Pryor has a LOT to learn and a QB will not last long on pure athleticism. It's a steep learning curve but I hope the coaching staff can fast track Pryor for the starting job. At the very least, I'd also like to see what he can do with a full offensive series. |

Michael Robinson did a pretty good job on pure athleticism actually.
I'd like Pryor to start sooner rather than later as well, and not just to break the vbookie...though that is a nice bonus. |

Pyror was impressive in the USC game. But Tressel didn't put him in enough. He would do so good, and get the buckeyes fired up, then Boekman would get in and get sacked or something. I was hoping he'd just leave pryor in but he didn't. =(

No doubt we should start Pryor. The O-Line is good but not elite, we need a mobile quaterback. I won't bash Todd but right now this team needs a healthy Beanie and mobile QB.
Maybe this was the final eye-opening event! ![]() |

it was obvious that the buckeyes should have kept pryor in the rest of the game, early, but it was also obvious that tressel and the rest of the coaches feel he doesn't know the system enough, and he probably doesn't. all the plays pryor ran were short passing or bootlegs and draws. pryor still needs to develop (x's and o's standpoint) and i agree, play him a lot from now on, but give him passing plays, not just the spread offense type plays, and he should develop well....soon.

I think we all need to remember though that although this kid is an amazing talent, he is still a freshman. If does end up starting at some point this year and taking the reigns, we'll have to be patient with him. Also, I think he still looks a little hesitant at times when he runs with it. Don't know if he's just trying to get a feel for the speed of the game or if he's afraid of fumbling...but it appears that he's not really exploding through holes sometimes. I don't know, maybe it's just his running style since he's such a big guy. This kid is a competitor. You could see it on his face...I think our future is in great hands with TP running the show. We just need to let him grow into his role a little. |

I stayed up and watched a few minutes of Tressel's press conference. I think the QB job is now wide open. He did not say Todd is still the starter. TP needs to see a lot of the field this week.

I really liked seeing Pryor's intensity and leadership last night. He came to play, and nobody seemed more torn up about this loss than Terrelle. I hope he starts from here on out. Todd has had his shot.
