I know there wouldn't be a thread if there was no interest from either OSU or Jaamal, but just how much interest is there really?

Rivals Amp Video
via FLAVarsity.com 2/14/08 Sounds like a great kid with a work ethic to match. Talks about his grade situation and how hard he worked to raise his GPA, his combine results, schools of interest, official offers then and his stats. Jaamal would be HUGE as a RB in this class, especially one to compliment at a bigger back like Carlos Hyde. Berry and Hyde would be a tremendous haul.

Film (Rivals)
Explosive, blazing fast, and tough to bring down. Berry just makes some cats look flat out dumb...he has the moves. I know I really like Toussaint but I like Berry better after that video. I still hope we take Toussaint as well but Berry is so explosive and would be great to go with Hyde.

Is this based on something other than your gut? Or just stating the obvious that southern kids often stay in the south?

Man, that kid has HEART. I've got about 5 comparisons to his running style in my head. I haven't seen anybody break tackles so viciously like that since MoC, but that break away speed is remeniscent to me of a Steve Slaton or a Chris Rainey.
I'd really like to see this kid get an offer, regardless. He plays RB the way it is meant to be played. You have to love a player that fights for every yard like that. No matter where he goes, he's going to be a fan favorite. I'd love to see an offer go out to Berry, Golden, & Touissaint to be that speed back that can't be caught or won't go down. IF we get Hyde, any of those three would be a great compliamentary back. DANGERous home run hitters to Hyde's ground and pound with Adam Homan leading the way. |
