2008 Ohio State Offense

How in hell do we do this?

We will have 3 QBs worthy of throwing the ball.

We will have 4 RBs worthy of running the rock.

And more WRs/TEs than you can care to count.

I'm glad we have Tress, because with anybody else, I'd be worried about transfers, or attitudes. A positive would be the injuries, obviously, as people are there to back others- for example, I have never been more confident with our QB situation, in college, or for any NFL team. But this still worries me- being that you have people like Mo who are seniors, and people like Saine who are sophomore, ready to get some deserved touches. All of this, on top of having our Heisman front runner lead the team to all sorts of good.

Have a different set of players ready for each quarter. Defenses will have to plan against four different teams.

Did anyone think the scoring of the sat scrimmage (55??) vs the defense was a little high? i herd they ran 125 plays. Any thoughts on that??

I don't know the stats, but I can tell you this- Don't worry about defense this year. 9 Returning starters- same with offense- and I'm not really worried. The offense, however dominant we were last year, will be even more productive, and defense? Pfffttt...

That is not a traditional football scoring system...they have a specific system of points for the scrimmage

Boeckman is on a much different level than the other two, as is beanie. It's been reported by almost everyone in practice reports (including grad), and was evident to the media in the 30 min access we received last friday. There sure is a ton of competition for backup RB reps though.

Here is a rundown of the scoring from an old post:

Tressel devised his own scoring system for this scrimmage. The offense gets points for touchdowns and field goals as well as one point for every first down. The defense receives one point for holding the offense scoreless on a series, two points for negative plays and five points for turnovers.

I'm a little worried about the defense. They didn't turn other teams over enough last year. They missed a lot of opportunities, dropped INTs and the like. I know it's nitpicking on a team that was up there in total defense, but it still worries me.

Well, the D has to do 20 "up downs" for every dropped INT during spring practices. Hopefully this will help them catch.

I'm not worried about a thing. We're going to be juuuuuuuuuust fine
