Just talked to Corey on Facebook and i asked if their was any word were he would be playing this year cb or wr . He said no word yet but he really hoping for a spot at WR .

He looked baller in the AAA game at WR. I think he's going to play on both sides of the ball, might be Big Ten freshman of the year.

I doubt we ever have another 2 way player. And I wonder if Brown doesn't get a look at.............safety.

Brown was set a copy of the defensive playbook only. I would guess that he starts at CB, but he will get looks at S and WR. IMO Corey could be a special FS, not to say he couldn't be special at WR/CB. With his ball skills I would put him at S and dare teams to go deep.

It's my opinion that our seconday is the weakest point on the feild(lack of experinced CB's) and im not even sure how realible our 1st string CB is coming off a very bad bowl preformance and an injury. We need Brown to step up BIG time at CB. If any freshmen is the most important peice to THIS years team it is brown IMO.

FWIW, Tressel always says that incoming freshman get their pick where they want to play at first, then they go from there. I'm sure that's tongue in cheek a little and never really the case with most players because they know where the coaches want them, but there's some truth to it when it comes to Brown for sure. If he comes in and says I want looks at WR first, then he will get them, according to Tressel's words. I'll find his quote, again It's likely irrelevant because I think he's going to practice on both sides very early and often. Proly eventually the staff will see that he HAS to play on a certain side of the ball and it may take shape from there.

The QB was a junior last year. I watched Gateway a few times, and while he looks pretty solid he's not BCS type of kid. He threw like five picks in their state championship game. I'll look for a profile or something...

I'm not an "expert" in the recruiting world. But I do get a certain sense of players a lot. Corey Brown, IMO, is the best get in that class by far. He will come in and blow people away. He will be a special special player for OSU.

Nice quality on those highlight videos - and about 25 minutes total.

I'd be interested to see him play free safety, as a ball-hawk, rather than a bring-the-wood type.

His Recruitment: Corey comes from a powerhouse Gateway Gators program in Monroeville, Pennsylvania that annually matriculates its star players to top college football programs around the Midwest. With a stellar sophomore season and the credentials of high school team and coach, Corey was getting serious interest as early as the summer of his sophomore year. He had verbal offers from the likes of Boston College, Pitt, Rutgers, Kentucky, WVU and apparently Penn State by mid August of 2007. By the end of the month, Ohio State and Michigan were interested. Ohio State?s interest came after the junior Corey Brown (and teammate Dorian Bell) impressed at 7-7 camp at Ohio State. When all was said and done, Corey had offers from the likes of Oklahoma, UNC, Notre Dame and Tennessee as well.
