I am still not a believer in Utah being a top 25 team. Michigan just isn't that good. East Carolina should be ranked ahead of Utah.
The colors make the poll much more fun than the AP poll.

I love the colors but I can't see Wake...perhaps black or darker gold is better?
Personally I'm not sold on Wisconsin as a Top 10 team.

The problem when evaluating the two teams against one another is that one took advantage of a team learning two different, new offenses under a new coach, while the other took advantage of a team QB'd by Sean Glennon. Push. I think Utah had the tougher game overall, was more dominant, and allowed the score to be closer than it should have been with the punt block and the fumble that let Michigan back into the game in the fourth. Those two plays turned a 25-10 game into a 25-23 game in 70 seconds. That also doesn't account for the fumbled punt return in the first quarter that set up Michigan on their first TD. Starting field position for all three of Michigan's TD scoring drives: Utah 26, Utah 31, and Utah 33. The Utes, I think, will prove to have a better defense, and they have a kicker in Sakoda, who hit four FGs, including one from 53. Of course, if East Carolina goes on to upset West Virginia while Utah looks like crap again perennial MWC doormat UNLV this weekend, I'll change my vote in Week 2 (and delete this post).

I really don't think either school should be ranked yet. But...if I would rank either, it would be East Carolina. Tech has a better defense than Michigan. I think Tech would beat Michigan. Obviously it's too early to tell for sure...it's just opinion.

I haven't completed my ballot yet, but can anyone think of a good reason not to rank East Carolina #1? They've got the two most impressive wins of the year right now and a soft schedule remaining. They could easily go unbeaten.

That's a good point. Herbie mentioned something similar on College Football Overdrive before the Florida game - they're similar to a mid-major basketball team making a run. They have tons of experience in the starting line up and that helps them a lot, but they're super thin in terms of depth. Kind of like Ntre Ame from 2005, but actually good. I'm still waffling about where to place them - based purely on the season so far, they've gotta be #1. Based on subjective evaluation, though, it's hard to move them that high.
