Well, I certainly like our poll much better than the AP poll. However, I still think BYU is ranked ahead of a lot of teams that would beat them. I am also disappointed that South Florida is still in the top 25 after losing at home to Pittsburgh. Also think deserves a higher ranking and Vanderbilt is bound to crash sooner or later.

Again...since I like to be transparent. Here are my rankings, with how I had them last week in there. I found no reason to change my top 8. Vandy deserves the ranking, because they've played a decent schedule and haven't lost...plus they have to play a few other great teams, so they can stay in the top 10 for now, and prove if they belong there or not later. So far, they haven't done anything to show they don't belong there. OSU jumps over Florida because of a quality win, if Florida wins their big game next week, they will jump right back most likely. UNC and VTech are starting to look like legit teams, and I had a big correction with Kansas. They looked terrible this week, and looking at their soft schedule and lack of a big win, they just don't deserve to be as high as I had them.
1. Alabama (1) 2. Oklahoma (2) 3. Missouri (3) 4. Penn State (4) 5. Texas (5) 6. LSU (6) 7. Texas Tech (7) 8. USC (8) 9. Vanderbelt (19) 10. Ohio State (10) 11. Florida (9) 12. Utah (12) 13. BYU (13) 14. Georgia (15) 15. Boise State (17) 16. Oklahoma State (23) 17. North Carolina (NR) 18. Virginia Tech (24) 19. California (NR) 20. South Florida (14) 21. Kentucky (21) 22. Michigan State (NR) 23. Kansas (16) 24. Northwestern (25) 25. Wisconsin (18) |

Was out of town and didn't get a chance to fill one out this week.

That's a good poll, JXC, I can see some thought went into it.
I've got Oklahoma at #1, but Alabama certainly has an argument. But there are two things I'll mention: I'm not sure why you have Georgia below Florida - to me the home loss to Ole Miss was worse than the home blowout loss to 'Bama, and the rest of their games haven't shown much of a difference. But it's not a big deal because they'll settle it over a few cocktails on Nov. 1. The other thing is South Florida and MSU. USF lost at home to Pitt, and prior to that they were hanging their hat on a home win over Kansas, who you've understandably dropped this week. I've got MSU over USF since their loss was on the road at Cal, a team we both ranked. MSU just hung on against Iowa, buty USF wasn't impressive against UCF or FIU. |

![]() Seriously though, we'll see how good they really are going forward...they're a great story thus far, and if they can muster a win over Dook, they will already be bowl eligible (of course they should beat Mississippi State before that). Would like to see Vandy make a bowl. |

I just can't see putting Vanderbilt that high just because they beat Auburn by 1 point. They really have not blown out anyone this season except maybe for Rice. Their schedule has not been very difficult. I completely drop South Florida out of my top 25 because losing to Pittsburgh at home is just bad. Pittsburgh did lose to BG and that doesn't say much for them. I also have Illinois in my top 25 because I think with their offense they are capable of beating a lot of the teams between 15-25. |

I alawys have had Georgia ranked lower than Florida, so I guess my feeling was, until there is reason to switch that, why do it? Neither have done anything in a week to make me want to flip them. When they both lost, I looked at how Georgia was just pushed around at home, very badly, while Florida lost on a extra point block. I guess I just don't see enough difference in those two losses to make up for the fact that since the season started I have just thought that Florida is better than Georgia and would beat them when they play. |

I understand how you feel about Vandy, but they haven't lost, have a tough upcoming schedule. So i'm not worried about putting them up there for winning all their games so far, since if they continue to do so, then they will definitely deserve to be that high. Again, i'm not as impressed with score as you are. Sometimes winning close games show a lot more than winning blowouts. Pitt isn't a top 25 team...but they are a good enough team to beat some of them on a given day. USF's loss to Pitt isn't as bad was Wisky's loss to Michigan. Pitt is one of those teams that beats teams they shouldn't and loses to teams they shouldn't. Again. USF beat Kansas...and Kansas is a talented top 25 team. Illinois needs SOME type of quality win to be in the top 25 with 2 losses right now. Juice Williams is great, but their defense is terrible, and to me, they COULD beat a lot of top 25 teams, but they could struggle with a lot of not top 25 teams. They are close, but they need a better win, or a better defense, to move up. If you haven't noticed from my poll, I value defense. |
