BP Poll - Week 8
Not much change at the top this week, but the bottom half of the poll has been a bit crazy. Pitt (loss to Bowling Green in week one) and TCU (blow-out loss to Oklahoma in week five) have been the biggest beneficiaries of the recent spate of upsets and let-downs, as they move to numbers 16 and 17, respectively.
The unbeaten non-BCS schools - Utah, Boise State, Ball State, and Tulsa - could make things interesting down the stretch, as each has a legitimate chance to run the table. Okay, you finally voted out Wake Forest and Vanderbilt, only to vote in Tulsa and Georgia Tech. Get used to the eye strain.... This week, I added a breakdown of each team's vote received. 01. I can live with that because it is pretty close to my poll and how I rank them. Even though I ranked Utah, Boise State, and Texas Christian and Tulsa in my top 20, I really have no idea how good those teams really are because they don't play when I would call quality opponents every week. Well, as far as that goes, they don't play quality opponents every other week. I also don't know how good Ball State really is but at least I have seen them and they look pretty good but they were playing another Mac school. I think the first 10 are pretty solid except for Texas Tech and who the hell are you going to put above them. Overall, it's as good, if not better, than the BCS poll.

After seeing Mississippi play Florida and Alabama I'd take them over some of those Top 25 teams in a heartbeat. Tulsa, Utah, and Ball State come to mind off the top of my head. Utah's big win was over scUM, and Oregon State gave them the game. Ball State? Tulsa? Who have they beat?

My personal opinion with your poll is that I think you have Florida too high. I would put Oklahoma and USC in front of them at this point in time. Otherwise, I have no big qualms

I personally feel like the top 15 and the bottom 10 are VERY different. The bottom 10 was especially tough for me this week. The top 15 was not. Again I have how I voted last week. Georgia Tech and Florida State were 26 and 27 for me, but I had to leave somebody out, plus I think a team like Maryland with some quality wins deserves some recognition, even though they have not so quality losses. It just seems like this years top 15 is better than most years top 15. And this years 16-25 is worst than most year's 16-25

I know that Texas Tech is undefeated but I just can't see putting them that high. I also think Georgia and LSU would take Tulsa to the woodshed along with Texas Tech. That's just my personal opinion.

Okay, since I have done so much criticizing I will come clean. One mistake I did make was that I should have put Minnesota in some place around the 20s. I also might have Northwestern rated too high but after #15 it became a crap shoot.

I had Bama at #2 but I don't think it's "ridiculous" for someone to put them at #1. Texas Tech at #1 would be ridiculous.
