I was under the impression that Tress brought in the scouts and had them assess all of the seniors, as well as the juniors. If that's still the case, I agree with Jwin that Hartline is gone, as well as Washington. There's never enough cover corners, and he's shown as good as it gets. Hartline will not have more stats to show, he's a Gonzo type receiver (over the middle/slot type) and not a Michael Crabtree/Michael Jenkins flyer. He goes. Beanie has nothing to gain by staying, and I don't think his fragility will cause the pros to lose sleep, he always gets better. He has shown enough to warrant a top 15 selection. Coleman, don't see him going, but if he gets a high second round nod, then color him gone also. All the linemen return who can, both D and O, and all the 'backers. Small is gone also, if only to a D-II school for a year, but he'll check out his standing with the pros.

Any speculation on transfers? Or is that subject verboten? Might be better saved for spring camp topics.....

All this talk of the juniors leaving has me scratching my head about next years senior leadership.

Coleman is a captain if he stays. And I think he stays. Several other possible leaders on the defense too...I sure hope Wilson is able to go next year. For those closer to the program, which of this years juniors are apt to be real leaders next year? Russell, Rose, Denlinger, Gant, Amos...

Offense though..just feels like BHart goes pro leaving us with Cordle and Ballard as seniors on the offense? Lots of young guns will need to step up!

I really thought coming into this season that having so many seniors would be a great thing. Seemed like we had some serious issues though with leadership. I wonder if having very few seniors next year will make for a better situation. What are your thought on next year's leadership? Just curious.

They'll be a lot hungrier and more resilient imo. Guys like Rolle, Sabino, Pryor, Posey, Herron, Goebel, Williams, Coleman, Thomas, Brewster, Shugarts, Boren (and in HS Mewhort, Bell, etc) and others play with a lot of fire. If you punch them in the mouth or smoke them for a few scores, they won't tuck their tails, they'll punch you right back, or die trying.

Pryor will lead that offense and the tightly knit 08 bunch will have a large presence on the O. Pryor, Posey, Thomas, Brewster, Shugarts, Adams, DiLillo... Boren (transfer), Boom redshirted into that class, and hopefully Stoneburner emerges as well.

Cordle & ______
Worth/Den & Coleman

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that. I certainly wish him the best and hope he does make it, but he hasn't shown that he has Gonzo's hands or speed. He's a good receiver, a hard worker and he may find a home for Sunday ball.

Agree however.......He didn't get to win the Heisman like he wanted.....he didn't get to win a NC. And most importantly, he knows we play USC next year

While I think he's gone next year, those are three big things that may actually compel him to stay.

Yea, he seems pretty adiment on kicking USC's tail. He also wants the heisman and wants it bad. Either way he's gonna be a wealthy man.

Hmmmmm. Stay for a long shot Heisman? How much insurance can you get from Lloyds of London, especially in this year of cracking down on risk?

As for getting revenge on USC, that was a pretty serious, top-to-bottom asskicking. It's not like taking Texas to the final quarter one year and beating them (and their freshman QB) the next.

I don't see where people are thinking that BHart is anywhere near ready for the league, period. I don't think he's good enough for the NFL, sorry, and I know I'll get a lot of flack but so be it, there are MANY other WRs in the college game that run circles around him. He has mediore speed, and alright, hands, and on top of that his stats aren't very good. If he were to be drafted it would be late on the 2nd day if he's drafted at all, I don't see the kid sniffing the first day honestly. The guys for tOSU at WR that were drafted high recently had blazing speed and were versatile(Holmes, Ginn). Those are skills that BHart was decent at in college but would be below average in the NFL. And to just state it briefly, Beenie is as good as gone. And I can give you several million reasons why he's gone! Who cares about a Heisman or NC when your family has a new house and you're a millionaire. Not too mention NFL scouts are starting to question his durability. If he comes back next year and gets injured for several games AGAIN, he just went from a guy that was a lottery pick this coming draft, or even mid 1st round at worst, to a guy who is seen as a big back that is often injured and will slide down to the 2nd. Thats a matter of millions of dollars, I don't think anyone would want to pass that up, not even for an NC or heisman which are two awards that mean nothing when you get to the league.

Yeah I can almost guarantee he's a top 5 pick if he declares. But lifting that trophy and single-handedly proving if he was there in September, the outcome would have been different is great motivation as well.
