Stoneburner has moved to flex te. Perfect fit. He will line up all over the field. They will try to put him a position to use his god given talents and create mismatches.

Couldn't agree more. Ballard has made some great catches with his (very) limited opportunitites. I remember a great TD catch from Smith a couple years back, and a shoe-string grab that seemed impossible for someone of his size. I'd have been working up plays to get my big soft-handed TE down field for Pryor as a freshman, hopefully the coaches put it in the game plans this year.

Refute. Bolman has decided to go with the Wing T formation next season. I know, I know, the man's a genius.

Because Thomas got much more PT than Washington, and Thomas was a freshman. I hope I'm wrong though.

They don't play the same position. I'd expect Washington, who was playing behind Robiskie and Hartline, to get more snaps this fall.

COLUMBUS *? Ohio State coach Jim Tressel saw a ton of offensive talent either leave via graduation or through early entry for the 2009 NFL Draft. He has holes to fill, but thinks he has the talent to piece together a solid offensive unit. At the receiver position, however, the experience is thin.

The ?two Brians,? Robiskie and Hartline, have moved on, leaving the Buckeyes without significant experience at receiver. Roy Hall and Dane Sanzenbacher saw time last season, but this position is a question mark.

While Small and Sanzenbacher have been in the Big Ten battles before, they do not posses prototypical size for receivers in the conference. In fact, they are downright tiny, Small at 5-11, 180 and Sanzenbacher at 5-11, 175.

Sanzenbacher caught 21 passes for 272 yards and a touchdown last season while Small grabbed 18 balls for 149 yards.

One recruit will bring size to Columbus, along with an impressive pedigree.

Duron Carter, from St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida, is Buckeyes legend Cris Carter?s son. He?s 6-3, 185 with decent speed, but he also runs crisp patterns and has better-than-average hands. Carter caught 39 passes for 739 yards, including 14 touchdown receptions, as a senior to lead Aquinas to a Florida 5A state championship.

Another incoming freshman, James Jackson from Grand Ledge High School in Michigan, is expected to contribute this season. Jackson is a burner. He won the state 100 meter championship as a sophomore and runs a low 4.3 to high 4.2 40-yard dash.

Sophomore DeVier Posey and junior Taurian Washington saw time last season and will see increased roles in 2009. But the competition is wide open.

?I do think it?s going to be a big Spring for guys like DeVier Posey, Taurian Washington, Lamaar Thomas and your veteran guys like Dane Sanzenbacher and Ray Small,? Tressel said. ?It?s going to be important for them, but they probably won?t make the quantum leaps I sure hope Lamar and DeVier and Taurian make.?

Heading into Spring Practice Tressel hopes his receiving corps can stay on the field so he can get a full evaluation.

?I think it?s going to be critical as to how healthy those guys are because the only way you get good is with reps,? he said.

Taosman has disabled reputation
It's imperative that the big 3(Sanz,Posey and Small) stay healthy most of the season. Giving time for the young pups to come along. Losing 2 of the big 3 from injuries would hurt this young offense tremendously.

That must have been when the Indianapolis Colts had him listed as injured.

Kahuna825 could go either way
From what I have seen, everyone believes that Posey will be one of our main targets. Understandable.

On Stoneburner, I realy hope we could use him in a Kellen Winslow style TE. Your talk about matchup problems for a defense!!! With his speed and size he could create havoc all over the field and be the safety valve for Pryor.

I really want to see Ray Small be the player he has the potential of being. His speed is up there with everyone else we have.

Sazenbacher, while you admire hs courage of going over the middle with no regard to himself, he needs to avoid some of those hits. He is a very good route runner, seems to find the open spot, and has been a great safety valve.

Washington could step into his own this year. He has the tools. Can't wait to see what he does with them.

Flash Thomas has the speed to burn anyone, I woud like to see more of him though. I really hope he blossoms into a great kick returner/punt return guy.

The potential is there, some of it already in place. Carter is going to be good when he gets here I think. Can't wait to see this especially if/when Pryor starts letting go.

the thing about posey is that he's got all the tangibles (size, speed, hands) that people want to see out of their primary WR, so like you said, it's understandable that people think he's going to be pryor's primary target. but more than that, based on what i saw last year, i think pryor and posey have that QB/WR mind meld thing going on that everyone likes to see. posey didn't have a lot of receptions, but both him and pryor seemed to be really in synch when they hooked up
