I really would love to see a repeat to the Wisconsin defensive game. Tons of sacks and turnovers. Gibson and the boys eating Clark alive. Dex and Doug shoving Royster thru the turf 3 yards deep. Those WR's waking up on Saturday wondering who the hell hit them... I want and need domination in this game.... I HATE STATE PENN!!!!!!! RRRAAAAAWWWWRRRRRR TO THAT YOU PIECES OF S***!!!!!!

Yeah, but for a few of those years, the game was 7 on 7, and...pretty sure the game involved a peach basket.

No-name-D? The media needs to stop being so lazy and just take the time to get to know this D. There are great players up and down the depth chart.

The secondary did an amazing job today although they won't get much cred. They played lots to tight man coverage and kept the pressure tight. Rock solid job by the D all around. The fact you didn't hear Kurt Coleman's name today says a lot about how well they schemed.

Yep, and I only remember hearing Torrence & Chekwa's names once each - Torrence on the PI call and Chekwa on the near-pick on the deep post.

Yep. It'd be a shame if people don't find out who these guys until they hear their names from Roger Goodell. A lot of these guys are going to be millionaires in a couple years.

Here's another thread that should be 2 pages longer post-PSU-game. This unit is ferocious. Silver Bullets indeed. We've had solid defenses almost every year under Tressel, but the 02 defense and this one stick out above the rest as the best IMO. The obvious relation between those two units being an absolutely dominating defensive line. This defense of no-names is going to have a lot of high draft picks in the next couple of years that I can assure you of. We've had bend but don't break defenses in the past that statistically were very very good, but against top competition at times would actually break. This defense right now though is just pummeling offenses and making it look illegal. 201 yards at home for penn state in such a big game? yikes. Let's end the regular season with 5 shutouts on the year...

It's a no-name defense to everyone but NFL scouts. Thad, Cam, please sign the dotted line to claim your good life.
(But first, consider playing another year at Ohio State. Pretty please with cherry on top. Heart your pal, rocketman.) |

This defense is definitely the best since 2002.
What else competes? 2003 maybe, then 2005? But I'm pretty sure this defense is better than 2002. Don't laugh - if we had any back like MoC we would be undefeated (and that's not a knock on Boom and Zoom, believe me). I think if someone does the unit by unit comparison, 2009 comes out on top. I would do it, but god knows I can't remember the entire 2 deep from 2002. |
