I didn't see it in this thread and I believe that USC is going to have a new OC and that is one reason why Carroll was upset when Mark announced.
He wanted him to break in his new OC. |

Jeff Byers was granted a medical redshirt last month, so he'll be returning for a 6th year. He missed all of '05 and almost all of '06 due to injuries.

That will be the major key to the game.

Bradford declares he is going back to Oklahoma. Agents get in Sanchez' ear and tell him he is guaranteed to go first round, and most likely top 15. Sanchez changes his mind, calls Petey to let him know. Pete cuts vacation in Hawaii short, comes back to LA hoping to talk Sanchez out of it. No luck. Petey looks like a kid who got coal in his stocking on Christmas day. |

hahahaha... Well it's about time someone from USC declares for the draft anyways. I swear they have more juniors stay around for their senior year than anyone.
Regaurdless what does everyone think of the two starting QB's for USC? Personally I hope Mustain starts because I've never been impressed with him and I think Corpe is more mobile as well. |

Ohio State should win this game with a home field advantage. |

This is the deal with USC right now. The offense should be awesome, but IMO the defense should struggle. There's no reason that with our dline that we can't neutralize the USC offensive line, and put pressure on a very inexperienced QB. Great running game, and talented recievers but the QB position IMO is what may get us the win if we come out and stop the run. |

I think SC's offense might be slightly off due to Corp's lack of experience. At least that's what you have to hope for. Their defense is probably better. They should be quicker at LB, which means less running lanes for smaller backs like Rodgers or Boom. The secondary is very experienced and the DL is loaded with talent. SC's going to be pretty good. |

You say the offense should be awesome, but losing Sanchez hurts. Losing Patrick Turner hurts, even if he was inconsistent. Someone unproven has to account for his production. Their defense should be good but nearly as good as last year. I think it will be a pick-em game, if not a 2 or 3 point adavantage either way. I think Vegas could make USC a slight favorite, which would mean the expect tOSU to win. If USC is a 2 point favorite, I think it means they believe tOSU will win, and are playing on the countries perception of tOSU. Keep in mind, in the final pools, Vegas had tOSU 6th. Higher than the AP or Coaches. |

It's what the bettors think will happen, not the bookies. Vegas is uncannily good at setting an initial line that serves their purpose. If the $ thinks tOSU will win, then they will be the favorite, not USC. I agree, however, that there won't be a clear favorite. Very low point spread, probably influenced by each team's initial game. If tOSU's offense shows a pulse the first game, or even looks somewhat dominant, they could very well be a slight favorite. |

lol well dont tell Vegas because I think I'd rather be the under dog, at home, and at night.
I mean yes I think USC won't be nearly the team through the air they were this year, but that running game should be really really hard to stop. You add 5 returning starters on the line and a stable or running backs to a defense that sometimes plays weird personnel packages and I'm a little afraid. One things for certain though I hope we practice that damn toss sweep because we couldn't stop them on that play for the life of us. I really hope we win this game going away because I want to see that prick Pete Carrol frowning rather than jumping around laughing smiling and acting like a school girl. My perfect score (of course I'd rather it be further apart) would be.... OSU-35 USC-13 |
