Dispatch blogs....
update times ranges... MALCOLM JENKINS: 4.50 to 4.56 BEANIE WELLS: 4.39 to 4.42 JAMES LAURINAITIS: 4.72 to 4.78 BRIAN ROBISKIE: 4.49 to 4.52 MARCUS FREEMAN: 4.50 to 4.55 DONALD WASHINGTON: 4.50 to 4.54 BRIAN HARTLINE: 4.5 to 4.53 TODD BOECKMAN: 4.78 to 4.82 NADER ABDALLAH: In four of his six drills, his times would have placed among the top five of defensive tackles at the combine (he was not invited to Indy). His 3-cone shuttle time (7.40 seconds) would have been the best of the combine DTs. |

Great 40 time for Beanie, as for MJ.......not so much. I think he will probably end up a safety in the NFL, unfortunately. I'm not knocking him at all, he has been a great (almost legendary) player at OSU. I know his technique is excellent, and maybe that will off set it. But remember........almost every receiver in the NFL has great technique, and most are under 4.5 in the 40.

Beanie is hands down the most athletic running back in this draft. If he slips out of the top ten, he will be considered a steal in my book. Can't wait to see he and some of the other guys silence the haters come draft day and the 2009 season.

Oh God, I hope the Lions don't draft him. He doesn't deserve that.

2) Hartline, Jenkins, Beanie, Washington and others tested well in other events (shuttle, broad jump, etc). Hartline was near the top of most non-40 events. |
