According to Duane Long, Keith Uecker was just hired as the new offensive quality control coach at Ohio State. The position was formerly held by Nick Siciliano who moved on to replace Joe Daniels as the QB coach. Uecker is an offensive line guy through and through and the implications of this hire on the future of offensive line coaching at OSU are intriguing to say the least. |

A nice piece from the above article:

Tressel said that he officially begins July 1st, IIRC. I'm sure we'll get some reports out of the upcoming camp now that his name has surfaced.

With this transition taking place in July, does anybody think that we could see a big improvement or major impact from the get-go of 2009 or will it
take much longer than that. Will Jim bolleman have any thing to do with the offense or will he just be upstairs in the booth advising plays for Coach Tressel. I also read some thing that bolleman was to retire after this season. |

Isn't Bollman 64?

This is a quality control coach position, which means that he probably will not be involved in on the field coaching.

they used the position to transition between Daniels and Saciliano at QB coach, it seems highly likely to me that they will do the same with Bollman and Uecker, which means that he will probably be involved in "on the field coaching", especially when you consider that the offensive line is arguably the area that needs the most quality control

NCAA rules only allow 9 assistant coaches and 2 GA's to interact with players in any coaching manner period, including practice, film sessions, chalk board sessions, or whatever. link Last year Siciliano was granted an exemption based on Daniels medical condition. Most of his duties will be breaking down film, chart tendencies, and do some advance scouting. Nonetheless, he will have a big impact in the OL coaching, even though he cannot coach the players. |

We could still see some shifting of positions of coaches.
