OFFICIAL: Current-game announcer critiques and commendations
Thought this would be a good place for people to complain or commend announcers of Buckeye games.
First off, it sucks not having an OSU game broadcast in HD, guess that's what you get when the MAC has the rights to the game. Anyhoo, thought Reghi and Chapman did a great job calling the game, no fluff and just stayed to calling the game. I also like when they tell you the hometown and high school of the players, not sure if I am the only one who likes that or not. In regards to the lead announcer Reghi, is it me or did his scalp look black like he had just dyed his hair? Also, when he turned to the side to listen to Chapman's comments, he looked down his nose and looked just like Sir Steven Regal from WWE. |

I thought they did an okay job...got really annoying quickly. And thought it was funny how they said that Duron Carter threw the long pass right before half.

Couple of redshirt frosh referred to as "true freshman" and they couldn't figure out what number Carter was wearing, apparently. Carter must have worn 5, 8 and 9. lol

Boom HairRon did have a nice game and it was nice to see Melvin Fellows get his first game action.

I'll just say that the first network to allow me to watch a game with only the game sounds, and the option to mute the commentators, will have my full attention.

I thought Reghi and Chapman did a nice job-didn't say anything especially moronic, or go off on criticism tangents. They did a good job of critiquing TP while praising his strengths/great plays. |

Earlier in the USC-Washington game I heard one of the announcers say, " I like Polk - he has SEC-type talent."
![]() Thanks for the insight, jackass. Maybe he'll leave Washington early to enter the SEC Draft. |

The play-by-play guy fell in love with the phrase "We'll call it..."
"We'll call it a gain of 3" "We'll call it 3rd and 7" |

It really felt like they didn't study to do the game. Like they just got thrown on the broadcast the morning of. Could tell they had their cards in front of them, only had one fact about each player and rehashed it to no end. I don't know how many times I heard him go over what numbers the guys wear... common when you just read your card and are not really into the game. Oh well next week we get ABC guys who do the homework. At lest he didn't call Dane, "DAN" like most did last week.
Plus did he have to keep mentioning our "devastating loss last week". |

I'm also really bummed they broke up Nessler and Griese, they were the best team for the past 3 years, ever since Danielson cheated on Musberger for the SEC. |
