I thought yesterday's game was rather interesting. They let Bauserman throw a single pass and it was mistaken for a wounded duck getting ready to land in Lake Michigan. After that we went into a shell and all we needed was someone to hand the ball off.
That being said, Bauserman has NEVER impressed me at all during his limited amount of playing time. He lacks mobility and seems way too indecisive when attempting to throw the ball. He has been in the program long enough for the staff to have thoroughly evaluated him. I don't know if he is a great practice player but even if he is it sure does not translate onto the playing field. I think Guiton brings much more mobility and more significantly, more options for the Bollman/Hazell/Tressel trio to utilize when and if called upon. Granted, under Tressel the upper classmen are going to get the benefit of the doubt, however in this instance I think Guiton brings more to the table, especially since the play-calling is likely to get ultra-conservative (as yesterday) in the event of another injury to Pryor. |

I dont care who plays as long as we win. One observation of mine is that Kenny seems comfortable running Pryors play set. I think with Joe you would need a quicker passing attack and more I formation running. Both of these guys are going to make mistakes, Joe`s against Ill was a really bad decision and so was Pryors but TP can make up for a mistake or two with his big plays.
I think we are not very deep behind Pryor. We go as TP goes. We are a little too much one dimensional with TP and no power back like Beanie. Kenny is the closest we would have that could run the same exact play set as TP....at least until Miller gets on campus. Go Bucks |

Kenny G hasn't even THROWN a pass in FBS football, and he's dominating this poll? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Somehow, the Buckeye fanbase is ready to vote Tressel into the US Senate, but we find him TOTALLY incapable of picking a 2nd string QB. Sweet merciful crap. The right #2 QB is the one that Tressel says is the #2 QB. Tress says it's Joe B, then the answer to the poll is Joe B. The end.

I just expect him to do no worse than Bauserman.. while bringing more to the table. Not hard to understand why KG is dominating this poll.. Bauserman has looked bad..

People bring up mobility, guess what happened? They ignored my statistical evidence that showed Guiton and JB were nearly identical in rushing stats. Somehow even when you give stats people still revert that they know better than the coaches and cling to "they think". Whatever. |

Throwing a pick is bad, but you can theoretically do worse, it could have been a pick 6 or some sort of a fumble ![]() Seriously though, just because Bauserman throws an int doesn't mean he's the more prone to make mistakes with the ball, just means he threw an int. |

Either way, Tressel's not turning over the full offense to Pryor's backup, and Bauserman's got a lot more experience handing off to the RBs and has paid his dues, so until a backup is expected to to more than that I don't expect any changes. |

I have to post a bit more because its a ratio of 5:70 in favor of JB, lol. I am in the minority here, going against a bunch of guys that have an emotional edge coming off of a close game where "my guy" didn't look as hot. Give me a break, Im working hard to hold down the JB front

I think what he meant was (or at least as I understand it):
If you have a 4 point lead and TP goes down, Bauserman might be the better candidate, because he has better fundamentals. Less likely to screw up something on the snap or hand-off. If you are down by 4 points and TP goes down, Guiton might be the better candidate because he's a more dynamic player. Guiton is more likely to make a play and if he screws up and turns the ball over, oh well, loosing by 11 points is just a bad as loosing by 4. Bausermans INT in the exact above situation might tip the scales a bit toward KG going forward. |
