THE DIFFERENCE MAKER: Chagrin Falls' Brian Robiskie
Receiver's talent comes with a lot of catches
Thursday, October 14, 2004
Bob Fortuna
Plain Dealer Reporter
Chagrin Falls senior Brian Robiskie enjoys going fishing, but the only thing on his mind right now is catching the football. And he's done an outstanding job of it.
Rated one of the top receivers in Ohio, the 6-3, 190-pounder enters Friday's key Chagrin Valley Conference Chagrin Division game against visiting West Geauga with 28 receptions for 435 yards and seven touchdowns.
The three-year starter with the soft hands can do it all.
"We've run some end- arounds with him and he blocks well out of the backfield," Tigers coach Mark Iammarino said. "He's got two intercep tions [one for a touch down] at cornerback and a 90-yard touchdown re turn on a punt."
In a huge CVC victory over Perry two weeks ago, Robiskie showed his passing prowess while running a reverse, throwing a bomb that was right on the money but was dropped.
"I like playing offense because there's a lot of things for me to do there," said Robiskie, the oldest of three sons of Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie and his wife, Cynthia.
"And offense is where I'll play in college."
Robiskie has gained the interest of a number of big-time programs as a wideout. The University of Miami (Fla.) has offered him a scholarship, and he'll visit Southern California and Ohio State.
Robiskie is known for running excellent routes and his fearlessness for catching the ball over the middle. The only question in his résumé is his 4.56-second time in the 40-meter dash. It's a misleading point since Robiskie turns 17 in December, so there's more anticipated growth.
His relentless work ethic could improve his speed.
"His brother, Andrew, is a 6-0, 235-pound sophomore center on the varsity," Iammarino said. "He always tells me he wants to be as good as his brother. I keep telling him he will be if he continues to work as hard as Brian."

Kurelic Rivals Premium
Brian has narrowed it down to three schools, tOSU, USC and Miami (offer). He has ruled out everyone else and will visit all three schools. Coach Tucker saw a recent HS game and calls him once a week. Brian will visit for the scUM game.

Still likes USC, Miami and tOSU with no favorite. He may go to the scUM/tOSU game.

none as of lately, but I still feel if offered he will be a buckeye. I think he is on the back burner for now, while we wait on lymon and if he falls through then maybe Brian could get an offer. I don't know who else the coaches are looking at. Brian is a great kid from all I have heard and hopefully he has success wherever he goes. My guess is he goes to Cryami.

Hopefully the staff offers him before his daddy's boss loses his job.
