What carries more weight with a recruit when he is factoring a decision as to where to go to school......??
1. One choice is the flagship school of his home state; 2. The other choice is the Flagship school of which his father played ball? IMO, I will not view Boren as a major loss for OSU given his bloodlines; ScUM has far more to lose in this battle then the Bucks do. IMO, the positions reverses themselves with C. Smith. |

If there are any longtime City League fans here, didn't Mike Boren play at Independence before transferring to Eastmoor?
I vaguely recall watching him play and being highly dissappointed with his transfer our arch rival. |

Boren now has his Michigan offer...
Edit: didn't see this posted already.

Way I always look at Boren as an O-line prospect he is a high priority for the Buckeyes. One more for the good guys, one less north of the border.
Given his credentials, bloodlines or whatever you want to call these things it should be no surprise that Justin is high on several other team's lists. What Justin says about wanting to keep his doors open for now, and take all 5 visits, even if just for the sake of a once in a lifetime experience; this too makes full and complete sense. With the family pressure to go the Dark (blue) side getting Boren to be a Buckeye will require some mental toughness on his part, and tenacity on the part of our recruiting staff. He was my choice in the poll for "next Commit 2006" more so because he could really make great contributions for the Buckeyes than because I figured on Justin being the next from the list to commit. (Though if a May/June window is what he is looking for maybe that part of it will also happen). Nothing I read in the article that spawned the current thread spiral suggests to me that there are new or unexpected pressures on Justin. I'll patiently wait for him to make the best choice - and that's to wear the Scarlet and Gray every Saturday. |

What I took from the Dispatch article was the the degree program that he wants is more important then which program he grew up cheering for. I know both TSUN and tOSU both offer Civil Eng, but is construction management a degree he can get at both schools?
A quick check of a web site answers my own question for OSU. YES http://www-afa.adm.ohio-state.edu/u-.../pdf/consm.pdf |

Oops, this is a graduate program. Anyway, the answer for Michigan is still yes. This link shows that U of M does indeed have a undergraduate program for construction management. Last edited by TheMile; 02-20-2005 at 10:47 PM. Reason: Misinformation |
