Boren has Ohio State and Michigan as his two favorites. His father Mike played for Michigan in the early 80's. Ohio State has been recruiting him since he was a sophomore and Boren claims he has an Ohio State offer. He claims to not have a favorite between his top 2 schools but he did note the Buckeyes offered first. Michigan has yet to offer.

Justin was an honor roll student at Pickerington.

Along with Buckeye Verbal Jim Cordle, Boren was named Division I first team all-district in 2004.

Duane has said he is the no. 1 oline prospect in Ohio for next year. Good to see we have been in on him early.

his Dad was MLB at Michigan..He is at a position of need for us we need a big smart OL, right now the OL is making to many mistakes.

Now that is some great news. Isn't this the guy whose family were big Meatchicken fans? He sounds like a helluva talent and it would be a huge victory to keep him away from scUM.

i think last week duane said that his family was also big homebodies, so they would like him close. his dad, even though he played at TTUN, was ohio born and raised, so he does like osu, to the degree that he can.

Take this fwiw...but this was supposedly posted on a scUM site.... I received this info from a co-worker who is a big scUM fan.....

just passing it along...

"justin boren is leaning towards ohio state big time. if michigan wants a chance with this monster who can really play ball they better get on top of it and start talking to this kid. He is almost ready to knock michigan off of his list. It isn't looking good for the big blue."

Then he followed up with this:

"this is justins younger brother. I am a huge michigan fan and i am warning michigan on justins status. i really want him to go to michigan but right now ohio state is a huge lean. michigan is at like the bottom of his list and i want him to go to michigan. i am just letting michigan know about his status."

This is not positive to me.....if that really is his brother, I think they are waiting on the scUM offer.

At this point its way too early to tell. Pretty much no one in the nation has verballed from the '06 class so its natural for him to wait and see what offers he gets

Agreed. Speculation is pointless right now. This is the time for the gathering of information.

An early verbal only means it must stick until NLOID anyway. If any of these kids verbal this weekend, the other schools will still recruit them just the same.

As we all know, TJ Downing's dad played for Michigan and so did Tony Gonzalez's. And Michigan just signed a pretty good haul of OL!
