I saw that Holmes said he's not ready to go Pro, and he'll be here next year!! Our two possible losses as juniors and both are staying! Great news for us fans next year! GO BUCKS! BEAT MICHIGAN.......... and good one about Artest Dihard!

Well, thats great news about both of these guys (Hawk/Holmes)....Hawk will be a contender for the Butkus award next year and Holmes could really put up some great numbers with Ginn Jr. on the other side and more consistent play from the quarterback......
Its nice to hear some positive news about the program for a change. Is Huston coming back? I thought that they said one week that they were fairly positive he was going to get a 6th year. Not that he is Nuge, but from what I have seen in warm ups he is pretty good.

They are not able to actually officially apply for the medical redshirt until the end of their 4th(out of 4 eligible) year.. i believe.

Great news. I am extremely pleased that Hawk and Holmes with both be back for another season. Barring any injuries, their decisions will pay for themselves during the 2006 NFL draft.

One thing with Hawk is you see players regress over thier careers from when they start off great as freshmen and sophmores, b/c of double teams and things like that, we saw this somewhat with the big kat, but not with A.J. he continues to dominate the games, he is the best tackler on the team, and I am not sure, but at one point he lead the nation in tackles. Don't know if he still does. Him not being a butkus award finalist is beyond me. Also he is doing this with an average d-line in front of him. Think about next year if the line improves just to above average.

With Hawk coming back that will give us one HUGE advantage next year... leadership. It's like Doss coming back for his senior year. These are the guys who love being Buckeyes.

Do you guys think Hawk can be that kind of leader?
I hope you guys are right, but I don't think your going to see the kind of leadership we need from Hawk. I wouldn't be surprised if Schlagel does some things however. Hawk is a excellent, not great, but excellent linebacker, but I think that someone who was in the AFA is probably going to have a better leadership skills and make things happen his way. Plus leadership at middle linebacker, the center of the defense is very important. I think Doss got maybe too much credit for his leadership, and players like Nickey, Peterson and Wilhelm didn't get enough credit, because they were not as outstanding as players. Those seniors seemed to run that lockeroom like a Ray Lewis would. |
