Use Ginn and Holms as decoys

Gonzo could be a weapon this weekend if we used Ginn and Holms as decoys. We need a third WR to step up and make those Skunkbears pay for double teaming Ginn and Holms.

Misdirection, Misdirection, and more misdirection!!! The Michigan D-line and Linebacker overpursue in every game I have seen. Roll Troy Smith out one direction and throw back acroos to the other side.

That's how interceptions occur.. one of the worst things you can do against a quick defense, is to throw across the middle of the field.

Screen passes are generally thrown around the line of scrimmage... not down the field across the middle.

You didn't specify. Either way, we are going against one of the teams that are better at picking passes... we don't want to give them those opportunities.

A key to this game might be if the refs let Jackson hold our WR. I've seen game after game where he holds guys coming off the line of scrimmage with no call. I saw one game where they called it twice in the first quarter on him and then never called it again even though he just kept right on holding the WR. He's big enough where he can keep the guy he's covering from catching a pass because he's holding/controlling them. My guess is we'll see this being a conterversy this Saturday.

We may use Ginn and Holmes as decoys on some plays (like the fake WR screen to Ginn and passing to Hall for a long gain vs. Purdue) but we will also need to get them the ball as well. It's up to JT to make both these things happen if we are to be succesfull.

Anyways, I agree that screens work for most teams.. this year they seem to work only about 50% of the time for us..

Well I guess we should just line up and hand it to Lydell for three and out while Michigan is scoring TD's on us. Once they are up 21 -7 at halftime(like last year) we come out in the second half and open it up. Oh Crap we all know how that ended up.

We need a 3rd WR to step up in this game and we need to run misdirection. If we run that conservative crap we are gonna get rolled. I don't care If we run reverses or HB passes we need MISDIRECTION.

IMO we need at least 28 points to win. To think these guys are not gonna score is ridiculous.

I'm not going to argue anymore, because I can't stand to argue how we'll lose. But every good defense we've went against this year, you've seen the results. The only good defense we beat, was because they had no offense. Michigan is definately not a team with no offense.

Hey, I like the idea of using Gonzo more. If we can ever get the passing game
to the point (big if) where it's working, then having a guy like Gonzo as the 3rd receiver would be a major weapon.

Now we saw what teams are starting to do now hold ginn up at the line of scrimmage and blitz to make sure we can't get anyone deep to holmes.... Well we need to keep them honest and throw screens and such out to holmes to make them wonder who the screens are going to go to?
