It's been awhile so my memories are sketchy, but from what I remember, Herbie was flattered by the offer from Mich, but his heart was always with OSU. I remember something about Herbie telling his team at Centerville he got the offer and all of them giving him a really hard time for considering it at all. I think Kirk may be being a little dramatic about his real feelings about Michigan. I don't think it went beyond flattery and curiosity.
