Cornerback Ray Small from Glenville HS in Ohio took an official visit to USC this weekend and he gave us the following update on the trip:
</TD></TR><TR><TD colSpan=3>
"It was great, man, I had a great time. The best part to me was the game, it was so impressive. It was like a movie with how good they were. It was crazy. I expected them to be good but not that good. They just knew what they were doing, you know.
I had always loved USC coming in and going on that visit made me like it even more knowing how it really is. I love the way the coaches operate with the players. Coach Carroll knows everybody's name and he talks with them like he talks with everybody. We were with the coaches basically the whole time and they are real down to earth people.
My hosts on the visit were Patrick Turner and Kyle Moore. We went out a little last night on campus and that was fun. This morning we went to breakfast in Manhattan Beach and then Coach Burns took me on a tour of Hollywood to show me around. It was a great time.
I plan on announcing my college choice in January." Small is ranked as the #8 CB prospect by Scout and he currently carries a 3.8 GPA.

I would be a lot more worried about this visit if it was later in the year. Being earlier in the process, the mystic of the visit will wear off over the months. Especially after he visits OSU with the rest of the Glenville crew.

I hope to god he knows all his players names....I think this is just lip service from Ray....he had to come up with something positive.

That is a very powerful recruiting tactic if you are from the mid-west or any other rural area and you get to visit Hollywood as part of a campus tour. I think distance will have to play a part in his decision. LA is another world for an 18 year old. I can see how a kid could get caught up in the glamour of LA though.
