Final play

Just watched the tape of the game.

On the final play of the game Danielson mentioned that the reason why we got a substitution penalty was b/c JT was trying to get a walk-on senior in for one play.

First - class act by JT - that kid will remember that one play forever.

Second - Do any of you know who it is? I couldn't tell.

It was DeMaria. After the penalty he was still lined up behind Smith for the kneel

Little details like that are what make it difficult for me to contemplate not having JT as head coach. I know wins and losses are what his job is about, but his attention to detail and apparent respect for *all* players on his team goes a long way with me. Ant recently suggested that I'm a JT-worshiper, and that I expect the same of others. I disagree on both counts. I have a great amount of respect for how he carries himself as a coach, or at least how I perceive him to. But that doesn't mean I think he (or anyone else) is without flaw. That little act was was probably a big deal for DeMaria, and while it probably shouldn't have much meaning to me, it does anyway. Even with everything else going on, in the closing moments of a great upset of our arch-rival, JT considered a senior walk-on. I can wish for a more effective offense, and still state that there's no one else at present (or in the conceivable future) that I'd rather have leading our program. If that makes me a tool, I can live with that.

Agree 100% Clarity....I guess I am a tool also. That simple act probably gave that kid and his family a lifelong memory above and beyond kicking the hell out of scUM.

Hey - ant can call me a JT worshipper if he wants. 3-1 vs. the Weasels, and a ring? Sign me up! I'd rather be a Tressel worshipper than a Carr worshipper. Is Tressel without flaw? No. Does he look relatively flawless in relative comparison with his predecessor and his arch rival? In my eyes, yes. Maybe ant was around when Woody was coach, but I grew up watching Cooper's teams. I had many a November and New Year ruined by Cooper's lack of ability to seal the deal in the big ones. After growing up knowing nothing but heartbreak at the precipice of glory for my Buckeyes, what JT has done has made him worthy of my blind hero-worship.
