Another amazing thing about the 2002 team...
We shut down half of the top 10 Heisman vote getters. Despite not having one of our own. Impressive. Too bad we didn't play Iowa too.
1 Carson Palmer USC Senior QB 1328
2 Brad Banks Iowa Senior QB 1095
3 Larry Johnson Penn State Senior RB 726
4 Willis McGahee Miami Soph RB 660
5 Ken Dorsey Miami Senior QB 643
6 Byron Leftwich Marshall Senior QB 152
7 Jason Gesser Wash St Senior QB 74
8 Chris Brown Colorado Junior RB 48
9 Kliff Kingsbury Texas Tech Senior QB 33
10 Quentin Griffin Oklahoma Senior RB 28

I don't feel it necessary to wish that anything about the 2002 season be any different.
That's a good find tough, Tibor.

If we would have played Iowa we would have won the Big Ten title outright in 2002.

I don't think we would have beaten Iowa. I also don't think A.J. Hawk could start for the Hawkeyes this year.
Ha, just kidding. I agree with BB73 - I wouldn't change a thing. Actually, I wish I would have been at the Fiesta Bowl.

I think the most amazing thing is that after Fox gets drafted this coming April, every starter from defense on that team will be playing in the NFL, as well as the nickel-back.
You always hear people each year talk about how the college team that wins it all would beat the worst NFL teams, and the argument is that the NFL team has all Pros and the college team probably has 10 or so, well that was not the case with that team. 11 starters and the nickel-back in the pros.
On offense, we don't have as many, but we do have Jenkins, Krenzel, some O-Linemen in the NFL now.
It was a damn-great team.

Yeah, nice find...considering I made the exact same comparison right after the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. Only about two years late Rashmish.

You don't have to cry about it. I'm sure you come up with plenty of good points. Keep up the good work.
