Bowl Records by Conference, so far
This now has all games, including the Orange Bowl.
The Mtn West WINS with 66.7 %. A scUM Rose Bowl win would have clinched a tie for the Big-10 to have the best bowl record. Oh, well. I think Joe Tiller and Llloyd Carr could use some clock management skills. So could Kirk Ferentz, but they won. Big-10, SEC, and ACC all end up 3-3. Big-12 is 4-3 (all the losses were blowouts), but they had 2 games against mid-majors (UTEP and Miami Univ.) The Big-10 and the SEC had all their games against major conference teams. The ACC played Fresno St. and 3 Big East teams. Big-10 3-3 Alamo - Ohio St. 33, Okla St. 7 Music City - Minnesota 20, Bama 16 Sun - Arizona St. 27, Purdue 23 Outback - Georgia 24, Wisconsin 21 Capital One - Iowa 30, LSU 25 Rose - Texas 38, scUM 37 Big-12 4-3 Independence - Iowa St. 17, Miami Univ 13 Houston - Colorado 33, UTEP 28 Alamo - Ohio St. 33, Okla St. 7 Holiday - Texas Tech 45, Cal 31 Cotton - Tennessee 38, Texas A&M 7 Rose - Texas 38, scUM 37 Orange - USC 55, Oklahoma 19 Mountain West 2-1 Las Vegas - Wyoming 24, UCLA 21 Emerald San Fran - Navy 34, New Mexico 19 Fiesta - Utah 35, Pitt 7 Pac-10 3-2 Las Vegas - Wyoming 24, UCLA 21 Insight - Oregon St. 38, ND 21 Holiday - Texas Tech 45, Cal 31 Sun - Arizona St. 27, Purdue 23 Orange - USC 55, Oklahoma 19 ACC 3-3 Champs Sports - Ga. Nice work, bb73. So far, you have to be a little suprised about both the WAC and the Big East. The Big 12 is also doing a little better than I expected.

UConn's easy win over Toledo surprised me. But I think the Big Least will drop their last 2 games to end up 2-3.
And Fresno St over Virginia was a nice surprise for the WAC. Also good that it stops the talking heads from raving non-stop about the ACC. I think the ACC will end up 3-3. Go Purdue! |

Sorry I didn't get it bumped for you earlier bill. Great work, too bad Purdue gave one away to a Pac 10 team.
Add this to the current seasons Bowl results: 1998-2004 (pre bowl season) conference records in neutral site games(not just bowls but I couldn't find a very managable set of data for just bowl records.) ACC: 30-19 (a little skewed as I did it under the current ACC) SEC: 36-33 B10: 23-22 B12: 41-43 Pac 10: 13-20 I think this shows a pretty decent sample size and gives even more credence to those who feel the Pac 10 and B12 are overrated. Updates for all 12-31 games are posted at top of thread.

Just to be consistent, shouldn't Lousiville's win count towards the BE total? I mean, Louisville's ranking counts for BCS purposes.

It's interesting to see the Margin of Victory/Defeat from this years Bowl Games. Cursory examination: Big10 has narrower losses than other conferences playing a similar number of games.
