Wisconsin game time
I just noticed on the badgermaniac site that a thread was started suggesting there's a rumor in Madison that the OSU-UW matchup is going to be moved to a night game. Though i can't remember UW playing any big ten opponent at night at camp randall in recent memory, i was at one of their night games in the mid 1990's against Colorado and the crowd was insane. If this rumor about the night game happens to be true, this game could be a bigger challenge than the ncstate game because we all know how our guys get it up for night games at home.

That'd be a wild ball game. From television, it looks like Wisky brings the tailgate into the game for noon games. I'd fear for our players lives, however. They're well known for throwing things, imagine giving them another seven hours to get lit up.

Interesting find devily-buck. This info was on BN very briefly after the spring game. Another poster (can't remember who) thought they heard an announcement during the spring game broadcast that Wisky was being considered for nighttime kick. I thought I heard the same thing being talked about at halftime, but everyone else thought we'd been hitting the bottle. The general consensus was that the report must have been about the Washington game, not Wisconsin. Who knows ... but a night game at Wisky would be insane! Talk about a roudy crowd and at one of the hardest places to play in the country.

They need to install metal detectors there (the fans throw pennies at the opposing players)... some day somebody's going to get a lawsuite for that junk!!
For our sake I hope it isn't a night game, no need to get those guys even more time to pump up the fans...

I would imagine we will start seeing more of this stuff. Teams want to be sure that the crowd stays pumped for tOSU games so they will move them later in the day to get the fans worked up. Best thing I can say is I hope our offense is much more preductive this year cause I don't want to be in a defensive struggle on the road in the Big Ten during a night game. That will be unbelievably tough. Our offense needs to come out blazing and put points up to take the crouds out of the game.

Can the school just change the time? I would think both schools would need to ok it, AND more importantly the TV networks would need to ok it.
I would think it would be the tv networks changing the times to better suite their needs, vs. the home school changing the kickoff...
Anybody have any insight into how that all works?

I thought teams had up to a certain point to submit times for their home games. Those were then reviewed by the NCAA, but I may be wrong.

I think the networks play as much of a roll in game time as anyone. Geiger was on with Spielman last week and they were talking about the WU game. He was talking about the push ABC made. Early national exposure and the west coast time difference also played a roll.

Yeah, when I said it was reviewed by the NCAA I meant the NCAA and Media. With the pull that the media has I would imagine that it gets as much say it who plays at night as anyone. Good point.
