well, my father and i found some tickets. long story short, there was a problem the first time winning an ebay auction. the seller changed the forms of payment on us. the auction listing stated that paypal was preferred, which is how my father wanted to pay anyway. after winning the auction, the seller then declined the paypal payment and asked for a money order to be exchanged in person. he was also calling from atlanta and wanted my father to perform the exchange with someone he knew in columbus. on top of that, he had another address in philly. my father denied his requests. then, the guy asked my father where he worked and how much he makes!!! my father got sick to his stomach and contacted paypal/ebay by email to explain the complications and lack of payment. no further interaction has taken place between this shady seller and my father.
slightly unnerved, my father then bid and won an auction for two tickets in 20c. this guy is a prosecuting attorney in celina (sp.?), which was verified by a phone number that was used and linked to his office. an email address was also supplied, and that corresponded to the gentleman's email address listed on his website. furthermore, he had a discussion about the buckeyes with my father, which possibly means he's a fan and, therefore, more likely genuine. my father is picking up the tickets tonight. i'm having him take with himself the pictures of valid tickets, along with the quote supplied through bp about what to look for in a valid ticket. so... thanks to all for responding to my various concerns and questions. we might have paid more than others (and less than others, too, probably), but the price is virtually irrelevant as long as i can watch the game in person with my father and in good seats. the way that i see it, when our team wins, the price we paid will seem a lot less expensive. in fact, it will feel like we grossly underpaid. GO BUCKS!!! |

it could be that students are upgrading, selling for $400+, and planning to buy tickets around gametime for cheaper. i'm sure that most aren't, but i'd like to think that they are. i'd probably do that if i knew i could get cheaper tickets. i'd also make sure that only a buckeye fan would buy my upgraded ticket.

Right before kickoff....the antsy folks will unload. It always happens and like I said there's a glut this year.

Any final tidbits?
Well, not that it will do any good for next week or even 50 days from now in AZ
...but it will still add to the other-all, "big picture" for the year, and give a more complete perspective of what goes down at the Ticket Office in each situation:As I was told, at about 7:35 a.m. Saturday morning Ticket Office Officials were sent out to inform everyone in line that there were no tickets and no intentions of even selling any tickets that might be turned in (however slim a chance that may be). As we walked over toward the Schott we saw several people walking away with chairs and sleeping bags. We got closer and saw an empty "line" along the Schott wall, the only indication that there used to be a group of hopeful, early morning Ticket buyers was the garbage left behind (lots of disposable coffee cups & McDonalds bags...even a couple beer cans ). Man, I feel sorry for those who braved the late night and early, early morning cold to only be turned away. (the sheriff even told me that he broke up the "party", telling everyone that they would be arrested for trespassing if they didn't move along).I had a brother check back periodically to see if any tickets at all were turned back in or sold and he was told "absolutely none." So, what about everyone else? Anyone spend the night only to be shafted by "the man"? Did anyone find a "saintly" fan who sold an "extra" for anything near a reasonable price? Did anyone hold out until right up 'till, or even a bit after kickoff...what were tickets going for then?Anything anyone can share will add to the helpful info we can use for next season and will be much appreciated. P.S. What a win! What a great year!! GO BUCKS!!! ![]() |

$400 was the cheapest I found from a seller, but I didn't really look that hard either.

Just so everyone knows. I was the first in line on Friday night/afternoon. I got to the window at 245 to 3pm. About 100 people showed up and throughout the night the office proceded to say that they were not selling tickets or releasing any. All of the regulars laughed it off and proceded to sit in line with me. They took the line down twice and each time said that tickets were not available. I was told in the line that only two or three games had ever gotten shutout for tickets. Also I was told in 2004 they took the line down and when the office opened there was a mini riot and so they closed the window, only to open it later and sell tickets. I waited until 830 ish and still nothing and they came out and this time said that they would filed criminal tresspassing charges if we didnt leave since they had to clean the area up from people making a mess in the line. I was very disappointed in the way the people in the line trashed the place for one and more disappointed in the way the ticket office personnel treated us after sitting out in the cold for 12 plus hours. We all got turned away and I ended up going to a bar for a couple of hours getting comfortable and making my way to a friends house and watching it on his projector. So the wrap up is, I know they had tickets due to some ticket office stories from in the morning that I heard while in line. They held on to all of them and told us that they went to friends of the program. They treated us like garbage and kicked us off the property. I am still the biggest Buckeye fan around but when it comes to the ticket office personnel higher ups i am extremely disappointed. They werent nice by any stretch of the imagination. So much for being cordial to about 70-95 loyal Buckeye fans, because I only knew of 2-5 scalpers that were IN LINE.
Nate Congrats Bucks on another Big Ten Title and another trip to Arizona. ![]() |

I sat in 20C for $300. Bought off a student on Friday night.
There were hardly any tickets for sale on game day.. Tons of people looking for them, hardly anyone selling (especially for anything under $500) I'm happy I didn't wait and take my chances before kickoff |

I would have done the same thing if I were you. Ignore the window ticket clerks and stay inline until game time. Hats off for your determination. At least we beat Michigan...what a great year !!! |
