A southern buckeye with a ton of questions
well you guys seem to know what you're talking about obviously when it comes to purchasing tickets. now say i want to go to a game but i live in atlanta. what should i do? should i camp out at the stadium? or should i just get up earlier at like 5 and do what everyone else does? i just dont want to drive 500 miles for nothing. and if ya'lls plan proves to be effective, ill save around $300. thats about how much two decent tickets cost online. so should i drive up and go really early that morning or should i just go ahead and buy tickets online. also i am not a student or alumni (obviously) will that affect my chances of buying tickets on gameday?

I also live in Atlanta. I'm going to be able to go to my first game this year. I'm wanting to go to either the Minnesota or Iowa game. That way it is a game we should win, yet is still a Big Ten conference game in some real football weather. Something we don't get too often down here. Also, to anyone that knows, is it alot tougher to get say 4 tickets in the morning as opposed to just 1 or 2?

If there are plenty of tickets available, each person in line (in the past) been permitted to purchase 4 tickets. If there are fewer tickets available, then there has been a limit of 2 tickets per buyer. If you are in a group of 4, just have one of your friends stand in line with you in case there is a limit of 2 tickets / buyer. Then you can each buy 2 for your group. Keep in mind, the Minnesota game is Homecoming weekend, and that may affect ticket supply.

Thanks. yeah. I just remembered that. I thought homecoming would be cool, but more crowded. I think Iowa might be my best bet as far as ticket availability goes. Plus, like I said, I want to taste some real football weather, and it is a little later in the year.

Im a rabid fan and alumni, not some scumbag scalper. Fisher Grad in 2005. Id love to go to this game without sacrificing a limb. I just moved back to CBUS so the inside track would be much appreciated. I wish I could contribute more to this board but to be honest the best I can do is read everyday. Help if you have input please. Thanks in advance. -Jacob Bray GO BUCKS!!

Last year vs. Michigan no tickets were released back to the public ticket sales office....absolutely zero.
Last couple of Penn State home games there were a very, very limited # of tickets sold to the general public. But the Texas game at OSU a few years back there were lots sold day of game...go figure. If I had to guess, I'd put my money on the USC game going the way of last year's Michigan game. I bet even if there are a limited # of tickets "turned back in" to the ticket office, they will keep them to hand out at their discretion...special donor / celebrity requests, etc. No inside info on that. Just my guess. |

my reply on what pad is saying is the location of the opponent and how that team feels the game will go.... i personally dont believe that usc fans will travel that well to come and will open more tickets ala the tex game of 05.... psu and mich tickets are harder to come by due to the rivalry/closer proximity of those teams. just my 2 cents.

As previously stated, we were able to get seats for the Michigan game last year. I expected that their fans would not travel since they had a terrible year and it was rather cold out. I figured we would have their C deck seats, but we ended up where I think those that are wheelchair bound sit. For what it is worth, I don't begrudge scalpers. I figure the ones in line with us last year put up with the cold like anyone else. One dude was like Cedric The Entertainer and made the sub 20 degree weather bearable. They had set a 2 ticket per person limit and I thought of buying extras for some spending money, but didn't want to risk getting busted. More power to the scalpers if they want to take the chance. Anyone try this for Navy? Any luck? Anything new this year?

I walked by the Schott about 7:30 am, and there were some people in line. I have no idea how many of them succeeded in getting tickets.

I had an early morning meeting, and was pretty much at the 'Shoe from around 7:30 a.m. untill 5:00 p.m. for the Navy game (and none of my brothers / friends came with me as they often do), so I didn't get to do my usual investigative work.
Like BB73, I also saw a few people in the ticket line waiting, but have zero info on what might have taken place. I do plan on doing some extensive 'research' on the whole procedure this coming Saturday. I figure I'll try the line just on the off chance they sell any single game-day U$C tix, unless the Schott cops break it up like they've done for the past couple M!ch!g!n games. |
