Season Tickets QUESTION

Hey all,

I'm going to be in C-Bus this Fall for the first time in 10 years, and I was thinking of purchasing season tickets off of craigslist. Can someone tell me, if you have any idea, what the face value of season tickets are. Like, if you were able to buy them from OSU, how much would it cost? Also, can anyone give me an idea of the markup? How much is an average set of season tickets on craigslist going to go for? I'm hoping to spend $2000 or less. Is that possible?

For 7 home games, face value is just under $500 (i believe).

Now depending on where the seats are (huge factor here) I would say you calculate 3 "not-so-spectacular" non-conference home games, with 3 Big Ten home games, then the scUM game.

(This is assuming non-premium seats)
So maybe $65 - $125 each for 3 non-conference
$85 - $175 each for 3 Big Ten games
then the big ? for scUM...$250 - ??? depending on our record, what is on the line (Rose Bowl, NC game, etc.)

With expectations high for the '08 Season, scUM home game, the Terrelle Pryor signing, I'd guess that season tix in fair to moderate seats will be asking $1,250 per seat & more.

You could probably do better to buy on a per game basis, but convenience is worth something and taking a chance with the final game is a risk you take under those conditions.

So $2,000 for two together? Maybe, but I doubt they'll be very good seats...

Keep in mind that I've never bought Season tix myself, just individual games (most of them over the past 4 years or so) so I'm going off those prices that I've paid. So take my limited knowlege fwiw, but I hope it helps a little.

Coming off a great season with virtually everyone back, add in the Pryor factor and you would be very lucky to get a pair for under $2000.

The first 4 games you should have no problem getting tickets for face. Last year they were around $62 each. If they go up to $65, then that's $520 for the first 4 games.

Purdue will go somewhere in the 75-$100 range. Expect the upper range if they (Buckeyes) win in Wisky the week before.

Penn State tickets are always alot if you can't get them from the University and you have to buy them off the street. Say somewhere in the $250/pair neighborhood. The shool did sell some Penn St tix in 2006, but I think the weather was lousy.

Michigans gonna suck but that doesn't matter, especially if the Buckeyes come into the game with 0 or 1 loss. Expect 2 to cost minimum $300 each. More likely 500 each if they're decent seats.

Either way, 2 season tix will set you back alot of cash.

The information you've received so far seems to be pretty accurate from my experiences and what I expect to see. All the right factors in determining the price for a pair of tickets have been mentioned and I too will say that you'll be lucky to find a pair for under $2000.

It is still $62 (face value) per ticket this year. The season ticket package for two tickets for all seven games is $868 plus a $15 processing fee or $883, and I'm paying that for end zone seats.

I though they would increase the price this season. Nice to hear there is no increase.
