By all means Bill. But our rivalry is particularly petty and childish on both sides, and every year the idiots are making up Bobby did this and Urban did that stories. We (gatorcountry, etc.) are just as guilty of that sort of nonsense as the Warchant crew.

But it is as certain as day follows night that recruiting season brings allegations. Neither of us have been hit for anything in decades, and still it goes on like a bad drum. (I defer to you on bad drum sounds )

If Urban did something wrong, then you do the time on it. I still say our discussing it sans knowledge of the rules is almost pointless.

UF Looks At Coach's Possible Violation

Patricia also pointed out that her daughter had been recruited by the Gators when she was a junior in high school in 2005, and her final two choices were Florida and UCLA. Maranda Smith contacted Florida coach Rhonda Faehn in December about joining the Gators.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that Meyer met with McCloskey last week and left the office thinking he had committed no recruiting violations. Meyer is on the road recruiting and could not be reached for comment. The incident is considered a secondary violation, and McCloskey said Florida deals with about 15 to 20 secondary violations each year. It is a relatively minor infraction, and McCloskey did not say what type of penalty Meyer could face if a violation did occur.

"That's like three steps ahead of where we are," McCloskey said. "We're not even close to that point yet."
McCloskey said there is no timetable until a conclusion is reached, and the compliance office hopes that will be in a week or two.

What I have read is that the jist of the violations they are looking into are out of recruiting period contact, exceeding the amount of contact permitted and contact by a coach other than the one of the sport being recruited for. Based on NCAA guidelines none of these on their own has much of a major impact. What would happen if UF is found guilty of all violations is the question. My guess would be nothing more than a scholarship lost in both sports which is relatively minor. I will be curious to see how this plays out but I wouldn't be staring up at the sky in Gainesville, it's not falling.
