They're not allowed to beat Rainey

The 5 tryout finalists got introduced live on ESPN's Gameday before the final race against Rainey.
Rainey false-started, and then stayed on the line when they started the race. The other guys all ran, and then Rainey did a timed 40 on his own, but it made the whole promotion pretty much a dud.

"He's very talented. You saw some great runs. ... He's got talent but there's no chance you'll see him play regardless of what dot com says and all the e-mails I get and everything else, he will not play football if there's a chance he'll lay it on the ground."

I thought this was a pretty cheap comment from Coach Meyer about Moody (I guess gatorubet would differ on this comment). Even the most talented player makes mistakes on the field and the responsibility of every coach is to make sure those mistakes are minimized. Coach Meyer is making this look like he is trying to blackmail his players (that too, publicly) to get the best out of them. I wonder if Tebow has ever fumbled the football and if so, is he still on the team?
I remember how coach Tressel handled this when Beanie had his fumble problem in his freshmen year and have never seen him bashing his players publicly. I am not sure what sort of confidence the player will have on his coach as well as his playing abilites after reading such comments. Rich Rod influence, maybe

It seems to me that Urban Meyer is a nag.

Yeah. He should try the touchy feely Vince Lombardi way instead.
He is a tough love kinda guy. Some players respond. Some don't. Tress and Urban have different styles, but so what? There are more than one way to an MNC...
