With out a doubt, this was at least part of it. He intentionally wanted to wait until after the season to "talk" to Michigan. His old contract gauranteed BIG money if he won the SEC and/or the BCS title. So why not wait and see what LSU is gonna pay before possibly burning that bridge.

Kid Rock and Sara Evans headline a concert at Tiger Stadium on the Friday night before the spring football game. Miles says he'll join Evans in a song on stage.
"I certainly have great enthusiasm for this event," says Miles.
"I'm just not certain that I'm up to the ability to sing. So I promise you that I will participate as I can."
Miles says he won't be deterred by "good taste" or "lack of talent."

LSU hires Duke's Alleva as athletic director
BATON ROUGE, La. -- Joe Alleva is leaving Duke to become LSU's athletic director.
Alleva will replace Skip Bertman, retiring in June.
The 54-year-old Alleva has led Duke's 26 sports programs since 1998 and received a contract extension last year. Under his leadership, the Blue Devils teams won six national championships and 44 Atlantic Coast Conference titles.
He oversaw Duke's athletic department during the lacrosse team rape allegations in 2006, and recently hired David Cutcliffe as football coach.

THE PRESIDENT: Good to see you all. Welcome. Go Tigers! (Applause.) Sit down.
Please sit down. Thanks for coming. So I met some of these men in 2004 -- they
feel pretty comfortable they were going to be back here. Some of them weren't so
sure I was going to be back here. (Laughter.) It's good to welcome you back. Proud
you're here. Nothing like being called, "National Champs." (Applause.) LSU has the
honor of being the first school to win two BCS titles. This year there is no split. (Applause.)
