My Heisman list:

1. Reggie Bush
2. Drew Stanton
3/4. Vince Young/Matt Leinart

Call me a homer, but I think Stanton is hands down the best college quarterback I've ever seen. Guts, accuracy, speed, smarts, he's got it all. It's just too bad he's on the least clutch team in college football.

I strongly disagree; I think Griffin's record is in a lot of danger. The media is going to see the wins, the numbers (300 yards passing against ND), and most importantly Leinart's gutty efforts to score on the last two plays. Perception is more important than his actual performance. If it wasn't for Bush, I think Leinart would be the runaway favorite right now.

Manningham doesn't know the offense very well yet. He's a freshman, and he's pretty only made plays on rather simple routes such as posts, flys, and quick passes. For example, we can't trust him to run hot routes like we can with Avant yet. I don't think there's any doubt he's our designated deep threat now or that we'll be making an effort to get him the ball more, but you can't just drop everything to make a player the center of the offense.

anyone conscerned with whether or not hawk has a future at the next level needs to sit down and watch the texas game again. any team that has to face/may face a vy type qb on a consistant basis will without question look at hawk very seriously. im not sure where this whole "aj isn't flashy" stuff comes from. if the texas game wasn't enough "flash" for you, go watch the iowa game. if you don't see enough flash from hawk in those 2 games you know nothing about playing lb.

People love to rag on the best. Look at what DJ had to listen too. All he is doing in KC is leading the team in tackles and FF and will be considered for defensive rookie of the year

whilhelm didnt play with his hands well. he had trouble shedding blocks.

HOMER. HE IS A GOOD ONE THOUGH.

I'M NOT SEEING THAT. THAT WAS THE TEST GAME FOR BOTH PLAYERS AND BUSH WON THAT BATTLE. AS LONG AS BUSH DOESN'T DO SOMETHING STUPID, HE'LL WIN. LEINART (I THINK) IS UNDER A MICROSCOPE BECAUSE HE ALREADY WON.

YOUR IDIOTIC COACH HAS ONLY GIVEN HIM 16 RECEPTIONS THIS YEAR! HE'S PROVEN HE DESERVES MORE BALLS (JUST LIKE LLOYD). HE'S HAD BIG CATCHES IN BIG GAMES. I THINK HE KNOWS THE OFFENSE GOOD ENOUGH TO GET MORE THAN 2 A GAME.

Again, I'm stupid with the caps and italics.

What's with the caps and the font? It just makes things harder to read.

Ah, I totally agree with that. Bush is absolutely the favorite, and deserves it. I disagree with your first post and that the ND game hurt Leinart's chances. I think it helped his chances, since it was such a classic game, Leinart was in the spotlight so much, and they won. In terms of who I think is most likely to win the Heisman, I'd say:

1) Bush
2) Leinart
3) Young

I don't think anyone else really has a chance.

How do you know he knows the offense well? That's the coaches' job. You also didn't address anything I mentioned in my post. If he doesn't know the routes, if he doesn't know when to run a hot route, etc., then he won't start over Avant (3 year starter, captain, having a rather good year) or Breaston(3 year starter, similarly explosive, finally starting to come alive). I've noticed 2 situations where the coaches were yelling at him to get into position as the play was about to start, saving an illegal formation penalty.

He's getting simple plays that do a great job of exposing his talent, such as quick passes at the line of scrimmage and deep bombs against man coverage, and he is getting more of them.

We only threw, if I recall correctly, 2 deep bombs against PSU. Manningham got one. Now, if your critique is that we should throw more bombs to Manningham, I'll agree. Just like with Edwards, I think we should be throwing 2-3 deep passes to him a game.

I think you're really overblowing this as a mistake by Carr and our coaching staff. There's much better places you can critique them this year, such as the blitz on the long run by Minnesota or the run-run-run-punt play calls we had on our next to last drive against PSU.
