Not a doctor, but isn't the "procedure" the same for both the ACL and the MCL and regardless of the severity of the tear(s)? I.e., the procedure would be essentially the same for a minor ACL (ready to play in a week or so) and a major MCL (out for months). I could be wrong, but I wouldn't automatically go by "so-and-so had the procedure done and played a few weeks later".

I just got a call
that said Mario should be back for the Ball State game, when they performed the surgery they found the MCL was fine. He should play in the OSU game, unless something odd happens.

Good...now there can be no excuses. Time to bust out Andre Amos on his ass...

Or maybe Malcom Jenkins you know ... our best cover corner? Yes, i know Amos shut him down in an all star game.

Amos will be busy locking down Greg Matthews if they run a spread formation. I'm looking forward to Mario facing a great cover corner who will knock him silly.

Detroit Free Press article regarding Manningham's surgury. |

That is the one part of his missing the upcoming Penn State game that is a bust, purely from the point of view of a college football fan. They likely would have put King on Manningham. Would have been quite a tussle all day.

This is great news for the Buckeyes as I heard on the radio this morning from a local sports reporter we play michigan this weekend. It was reported by the media so it is TRUE!!!
Seriously, I do hope Mario recovers. He is a hell of a talent, but I could care less if he makes it back this season. Let's focus on his future and wait until he is fully healed. ![]() |

I don't mind when people say "Fresno" instead of "Fresno State." But don't mix up "Ohio" and "Ohio State," or "Arizona" and "Arizona State," or "Michigan" and "Michigan State." |

ESPN News is saying he'll be out for 2-5 weeks.
In the next 12 days they play at Penn State and host Iowa. Missing him in those games might cost them a victory. After that, TSUN gets Northwestern, Ball State, and at Indiana before The Game. They'll take their time getting him back to make sure he's healthy on November 18th. |

I read a report on another site indicating that he'll be out 2-3 weeks. I guess you could say that the next 2 weeks could either make or break their season. Without MM, Michigan is a one dimensional offense. I equate it to USC losing Jarrett. Look for PSU to stack em up in the box and force Henne to throw.

Oh ye of little faith. Michigan will create excuses. Even if they have to see things that don't exist, they'll have their excuses.
