If USC wins the Rose Bowl...Can they do the impossible?
Beat Oklahoma's 47 game winning streak record.
They are currently at 34 right now. If they when the Rose Bowl, they will have 35. Leaving them 12 games short of the record. Now with the 12 game regular season and the bowl game that would give them 13 games next year. If they win the Rose Bowl and the bowl game the next year(which would be the national championship for sure) that would give them 48 games in a row. But is it possible? Will they have the power to do it? Do they even have the ability? It begs the question if they do it, will they then be the best ever. Look at what they would have if they do it... 4 Consecutive National Championships 5 Consecutive Pac 10 Championships(Dating back to 2002) And oh yea a 48 Game Winning Streak I don't think they can go undefeated next year with Bush, Leinart, and possibly Lendale White leaving. |

no....i dont see it happening next year..
its going to be a rebuilding year for them...they probably will still have a top 15 team, but nothing like they have now... and besides, IF USC were to win out in the regular season, they would have to play us in the NC, and we all know the outcome of that game if it happens ![]() ![]() ![]() |

They won't be rebuilding next year...simply reloading. They've been cleaning up in recruiting the last 3-4 years. We all thought their offense would stumble somewhat with the departure of Norm Chow and it hasn't. When Carson Palmer left three years ago, we thought USC would loss a game or two a year...Matt Leinart has lost one frickin' game in three years, so who knows how good his replacement (Booty, Sanchez?) will be.
If you think the USC-media fellatio-fest is bad now, just wait if USC does beat Texas...forget about the rest of hockey and basketball seasons and the whole baseball season, because all you'll hear until next season is how USC will break Oklahoma's record. |

My thoughts exactly... just going to reload and cock it. Caroll has a machine built, but [censored]ing a i could recruit people to come to school where girls are beautiful, academics are respectable, hollywood, historic program, LA, and some recent hardware (heismans and national championships.)

Will we ever see a Big 10 or SEC team to win 34 in a row? |

We thought USC might stumble, but they still had an unbelievable set of offensive weapons. Without Bush alone, they lose about 3-4 games the last few years. He was the MVP last year and again this year... during each of the comebacks this year they ran the ball on their way to a comeback, a remarkable luxury. |

Oklahoma University? Heard of them?
You know, that team that went to all of those BCS/NC games... and was hailed as The Program after Miami was upset by our buckeyes. They had been cleaning up in recruiting for years, and were predicted to reload in 05 and instead nose-dived in a weak Big 12. I doubt USC will slip that much, but the scenario is not that much different. |

They will lose at least one game next year, you cant replace the experience that Leinhart and Bush gave them, maybe the talent but not the experience.

I agree with jwins, I think the main reason there hasn't been a downward effect from the departure of Norm Chow yet is because they still had all the weapons he helped build. Of course they have fine talent waiting in the wings, but they are still unproven at the college level. It'll be interesting to watch them next year when they lose their running game and have to break in a new QB. Certainly Jarrett should be able to help Booty/Sanchez, like Williams helped Leinhart, but without Chow, will the the rapid development over the years occur?

NO, they won't beat the record. They will have the talent, but they need time to jell.

If the Pac10 were only as strong as the SEC and Big Ten, I could see them getting knocked off next year before the national title game. But, they have a ton of young talent, and time to grown in a weak conference. They'll be very good by the end of next season, and likely undefeated.
They do play Arkansas and Nebraska at the beginning of the season, but I don't see either of these teams giving the condoms a very difficult game. Clearly, the toughest game on the schedule is Notre Dame, but they get them at the Coliseum the second to last game of the season. By that time, the Trojans would be a well-oiled machine. |
