Second thing is, if they really follow it... they know that for every Dennis Kennedy and Jason Gwaltney there are 40 other Ted Ginn's and Matt Leinarts, etc.
heyyy now whats that supposed to mean. i know gwaltney is a very good player, but i tell you what, id much rather have Matt Leinart or Ted Ginn over Gwaltney. I know there are many very good athletes out there that can play football but i dont know about putting Gwaltney on that high of a pedestal.

I would have to believe there is more to the conversation but I also believe the words "your making a mistake" were made by PC, but in what context and what was the meaning will never be known.
Well said.

Here is where I stand on the JG situation and he "verballed" to 3 different schools. I am pretty old school on this and it is if you give your word to someone, you stand by it. To me, giving your word (in this case a verbal) and sticking to it is damn important. Once someone breaks their word, I tend to lose respect for them and it goes without saying, trust is gone. I guess the way I was raised, and the way I am trying to raise my sons, is that a man's word is extremely important. And in the end, JG did keep his word to the original school he verballed to; but that doesn't exonerate him from giving his word (allegedly) to 2 other schools.

JG did verbal early to WV. If I had to guess, and it is only a guess, once his season wore on and the big names in college football came a calling (USC and OSU), I tend to think that JG started to believe he could go to one of those big name schools with a higher visibility than WV. Unless one is extremely, maybe even unusually, well grounded as a HS senior, that may, on some level, cause a little bit of an ego boost. Being in LaLa Land on an official visit, having PC stroking your ego, etc, well I can see how he may have gotten caught up in the moment and verballed while on the visit. He may have gotten caught up in the moment. Ditto that with his OSU recruitment. Again, that doesn't exonerate JG for (allegedly) making 3 verbals, giving his word 3 times, knowing that he would have to bail on 2 of the 3, just a possible scenario.

I wish nothing but the best for JG and I hope this recruiting process has taught him a valuable life lesson, a lesson that he won't learn in the classroom at WV (nor would he have at OSU or USC).

We're really debating over who would win a fistfight between a guy wearing 5 rings versus a guy wearing two? I wouldn't start [censored] with JT, unless you wanted to get 1991, 1993, 1994, 1997, and 2002 stamped all over your face!

Tressel versus Pete Carroll and the entire 2004 Trojans team:

Does Tressel get to play with both arms or one tied behind his back?

One tied behind his back.

Then it's Tressel by only 48 to nothing.

Okay, how about Tressel versus Bill Clinton in a Presidential election:

Pre-Monica Bill or post-Monica Bill?

Pre-Monica.

Tressel, 95% to 5%

Tressel versus Godzilla. Does Tokyo survive:

Yes.

Tressel versus Mothra:

Same.

Tressel versus Superman:

Trick question. Both fight for good, so they'd be on the same side.

Fine. Tressel or Superman versus Lex Luthor. Who do you use:

Tressel, because he's immune to the effects of Kryptonite.

Last question. Tressel versus Llllloyd:

Da Bucks!!

Not a trick question. I'm not trying to lure you into validating or denying a split title, I was just saying that for the purposes for the fistfight, when Jim Tressel says to Pete Carroll, "What did the five rings say to the face?" (wait a minute... I think I'm gonna find a way to use that one ), Carroll will be wearing two rings at the time.

Personally, I feel that any team that wins a split title should be able to acknowledge it as a "championship season". I don't think it carries as much weight as an outright championship, but a split title is still a great accomplishment, and when a team earns one, they should be able to brag about it - except scUM - because I'll lay the smack down on their roody-poo candy asses. Anyway, I don't feel the need to convince people who think otherwise about split titles. There are valid point on both sides.
