I doubt they paid a clicker much money. Sounds like a job for someone's son or something who wants to earn some cash and help out on daddy's tv team.

Either that or something for an intern to do that doesn't get paid much if at all.

His stupid senile ass needs to get out of college football. If I was a PSU fan, I would be livid that a coach who's mind is turning to jelly is still leading my team out on the field. If JoePa was truly the great coach he claims to be, he'd realize that he's hurting PSU by staying and would check his sorry ass into the nearest extended care facility.

I generally encounter JoePa once a year on the beach at the Jersey Shore. Everyone down there knows where he lives and he gets out and about on the beach and in town. Very approachable and likable guy.

Statements made on a Pittsburgh radio station earlier today regarding the future of Penn State Football Coach Joe Paterno are unfounded and untrue. The meeting described in the radio report did not occur. The Board of Trustees has not met since mid-September. In his weekly news conference this past Tuesday, Coach Paterno re-affirmed his commitment to continuing to lead the Nittany Lion Football program. Any other statements to the contrary are untrue.

Him leaving is not going to fix PSU's problems. PSU's biggest problem IMHO is recruiting. I don't think they are going to do any better when JoPa leaves. But that's just me. I guess the rest of the world thinks different.

with the facilities and tradition they have, it is certain things will get better when gramps leaves. I only diss on jopa cause he is destroying his school with NO chance of fixin it . This is now 4-5 years in the mud, and He Even Thinks He Cannot Be Held Accountable cause he's been around for 55 years. Bowden doesn't run his show, and that's Joe's problem. While Bowden is a figurehead, whose best decisions are the assisstants he hires, Joe is still trying to do everything himself. That, and turning the worst recruiting coordinator the program has ever had and making him the unofficial offensive coordinator really hasn't helped, either (couldn't have anything to do with the fact it's his son, could it?)

Bobby Bowden still has the pimp juice to get insanely sick recruiting classes. Joe Pa does not. If PSU gets the right coach- no one on the current staff-they could begin to kick butt in recruiting like they did in the 90's and before..........

A lot of that PSU tradition has to do with JoPa. When he is gone, he's going to take some of the luster away from PSU. Even though I think that luster is already gone. I just don't think getting rid of JoPa is going to be a quick fix for Penn State. I think that was one place where JoPa was bigger than the school. Now, with him gone...you've just got the school...and that's not as nice. It's going to take awhile for this program to get back on its feet. Schools like Ohio State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, USC...those schools are always going to be above the men who coach there. I just think Penn State is getting a taste of what life without Jo Pa is going to be like...even though he hasn't left yet. They will have good seasons, and will have bad seasons. But a JoPaless Penn State will never recruit as well as Ohio State, scUM, and Notre Dame. And those 3 schools will steal a lot of players from Penn State. Yet Penn State isn't going to steal any palyers from Indiana, Ohio, and TSUN.

I think you can lump PSU in with the ND'S, Okies and us, but you are absolutely right that the lusterless PSU will make things tough on recruiting unless an absolute power of a coach comes on board and gathers the attention of PA's highschool coaches and players. And, whoever comes along will not be able to compete with Tress, scUM and Fatboy Cheesecake for the elite players.
PSU will always get some Ohio boys- the question is, 3* or 5*??
Parents who remember Jopa from the 60's and 70's will still steer their kids to PSU if the correct coach is hired, but your right, it will not be the same and PS will flounder it seems for some time to come........ ooooooohh wellll...
